It’s finally official. The No Tomorrow TV show has been cancelled. There will be no tomorrow and no season two on The CW. The series stars Tori Anderson as Evie Covington and Joshua Sasse as Xavier Holliday. The No Tomorrow season one and now series finale aired on January 17, 2017, and the cancellation has been expected for quite some time.
A rom-com fantasy, No Tomorrow centers on Type-A Evie, who starts to look at her life and the world differently, thanks to the free-spirited Xavier. He believes an asteroid will destroy the world in eight months, so he lives his life to its fullest. The CW cast includes Jesse Rath, Amy Pietz, Jonathan Langdon, and Sarayu Blue.
No Tomorrow: A Look at the Ratings
The first and only season of No Tomorrow averaged a 0.26 in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 794,000, so the cancellation makes sense. The comedy series was consistently among The CW’s lowest rated TV shows.
Variety and Deadline have confirmed that along with No Tomorrow, The CW has also cancelled Frequency. Details here.
Back in January, CW exec. Mark Pedowitz said that if the shows were cancelled, the network would provide closure for them, in the form of digital tagd, for each series.
What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the No Tomorrow TV series? Should The CW have cancelled or renewed it for a second season?
No Tomorrow was cancelled, but iZombie was renewed. RIDICULOUS !!!!!!! So we get No Closure. If ratings are based on households that watch iZombie, well, CW there might be a No Tomorrow for you too.
I love this show but it is the CW so of course it’s cancelled.
I enjoyed the show and its lighthearted perspective. I also enjoyed that all of the characters experienced personal growth. I’m sad to see it go and maybe Netflix will pick it up. I’d appreciate closure on the characters and the story line.
This was one of my favourite new shows and I was so looking forward to season two 🙁 I think just not enough people watched it! Anyone I showed it to loved it 🙁
I loved No Tomorrow… They must do season 2..n maybe more….
I watched all the episodes. It was a good show! Please give us another season.
This must have been really bad – The CW hang on with the most horrendously bad shows with the lowest ratings so this must have been dire.
No. Actually it was a great season one show.
No. This show was actually pretty good. And please dont just judge shows based of the fact that you think CW hang on with bad shows. You should actually watch is then you will understand out point of view. I dont like to rate any shows myself without watching them first.
Still waiting on that “digital tag” to provide some closure that Pedowitz promised months ago. I know why they do it, but I still hate when writers leave a first season cliffhanger. SO MANY shows never get past one season, viewers are constantly left with unresolved story lines. It’s hardly worth getting invested in a new show, which contributes to low viewership, which leads to cancellation. DUH.
My husband and I discovered “No Tomorrow” on Netflix a couple of months ago, after the finale. 🙁 It’s a shame that it’s cancelled, because it was such an enjoyable show with a great ensemble cast. And the writers knew how to write for the whole cast, not just playing favorites (like what has been killing “Once Upon a Time” aka the Hook and Emma show for the past few seasons). I hope the next show Joshua Sasse is in actually sticks around a while, we loved him in “Galavant” but that was gone too soon too. We’re going to… Read more »
My wife and me liked the series very much. It was a fresh breeze with goog actors. A pitty there is no sesion 2.
So did the world come to an end ???
I bought first season and didnt like it, I wish i could get back my money.
Did u buy it on dvd…? Would u sell it?
No on iTunes.
it should renew no tommorow
Yes it was corny but it was fun and uplifting at the same time. If you were intelligent enough, you could recognize tongue-in-cheek social commentary as well. At the very least they could give us a wrap up show! What a rip off!
I saw this show, and fell in love with it immediately. It was amazing. I will miss it so much; it should have been renewed.
It should not be cancelled. It was a fun, uplifting and cool show. It is much better than a lot of shows that get a second season or more. I think some networks push some shows and not others that are clearly better. I am very sad. It always put me in a good mood.
Boo! down with this sort of thing 🙁 Always the good shows that are taken away from us..
