Some serious baby drama is happening on Outlander. Entertainment Weekly has released a first look photo from season three of the Starz TV series.
The historical drama follows Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945, who finds herself mysteriously thrown back in time to 1743 Scotland. There, she falls in love with another man (Sam Heughan). The cast also includes Tobias Menzies, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis, Duncan Lacroix, Stephen Walters, and Grant O’Rourke.
[SPOILERS AHEAD] The season three photo shows Claire with her new daughter, Brianna. However, the real father (Jamie) doesn’t seem to be in the picture. Balfe described the photo to EW:
This is right after Claire gives birth to Brianna. Those scenes are wonderful because it’s a new beginning, but it’s so fraught with so many other things. Obviously, this is Jamie’s child, but Claire’s in a new time and believes that Jamie is dead. So she’s really trying to look forward and give her daughter a new life, a stable family. I think it’s difficult for both of them. Frank is coming to terms with his wife. He didn’t quite know what had happened. She disappeared and she’s back. They’re tentatively trying to see if they can patch things up and allow themselves to embrace a future together. They really do try, but it’s not quite that easy.”
Season three of Outlander is slated to debut in 2017.

What do you think? Do you watch Outlander? Are you excited for season three?
I’m so glad they are doing another season! I was wondering at the end if Claire, Brianna and Roger would all go through the stone together and what’s to happen to Brianna if she doesn’t go through the sone with her mom. My big question is though when does season three start?
Can’t wait!! Wondering why Frank is wearing a coat.. did he almost miss the birth?? hum… can’t wait to see. xxooxxoo Love Outlander and the ENTIRE cast!!! xx Dang Bri has a big head. Ouch. lol. 🙂
Can’t wait for season three to be aired in Australia. I have read all the books and watched seasons 1 and 2 several times. Read books 1 and 2 twice.
Got completely transported back to Scotland for months reading all the books and watching all 2 sessions. Can’t get enough of it. Great cast, great acting, wonderful script, it has me enthralled! And I am 86 years old
