TV show description:
This TV show revolves around Doctor Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), an eccentric and brilliant neuroscience professor. Unfortunately, his mind is also damaged and he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Pierce struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly though, he considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can’t yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Pierce’s greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.
Still, he’s recruited by FBI agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and can look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath. Kate is Pierce’s former student and, unlike her colleagues, she’s willing to look past his peculiarities.
Pierce’s mental condition and offbeat manner make it difficult for him to achieve the close friendships and intimate relationships he craves.
Those close to him include Max Lewicki (Arjay Smith), his teaching assistant. Max’s primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task, whether that means grading midterms or laying out his boss’ wardrobe for the day. Natalie Vincent (Kelly Rowan) is Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal. Paul Haley (LeVar Burton) is the dean at Pierce’s university and one of his few friends.
Pierce is in his element when solving an intricate puzzle or a coded message. But in unfamiliar situations, he can quickly become overwhelmed, and only his favorite music and a crossword puzzle have the power to make things right again.
Episode #39 — Run
When Moretti goes missing the day of her wedding, Pierce and Donnie set off in pursuit of the runaway bride. They soon learn that Kate has been abducted by a dangerous person from Pierce’s own past. Pierce and Donnie risk everything to save Moretti before it’s too late.
First aired: March 17, 2015
What do you think? Do you like the Perception TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
I can’t believe they’ve cancelled perception I loved it, they keep some right rubbish on the TV but the good stuff they cancel. Bring it back…
I THINK IT’S A SHAME NO MORE “PERCEPTION”. I LOVE PSYCHOLOGICAL DRAMAS RATHER THAN USUAL RUN OF THE MILL ‘SAME OLD’ STUFF.
GOOD ACTORS, INTERESTING STORIES. I WILL TRY TO BUY DVD…
I USED TO LIKE “DEXTER” TOO .
Ps. It’s inspired me to do an online course on OPEN UNIVERSITY, on mental health and psychological conditions. Autism and aspergers can sometimes be a POSITIVE thing for example !!!
More shows like Perception please !!!
Just discovered this show. Broken hearted that it was cancelled. So much junk on TV and they have a show that is smart, well done, and brilliantly acres and they cancel it and leave the junk playing season after season…
i agree with all of your comments below. show was supet interesting especially about neurological facts and stuff. too bad it was cancelled. it should have been renewed…..wah.
I can’t believe they cancelled it. Bring it back bring it back
One of most brilliant shows. I just found it on Hulu. So sorry that I could not have known of this series earlier, I would have lobbied for it to remain. I’m binging it twice so far and when I when I’m finished, going for the third.
It’s one of the best tv-shows Ive ever seen. The perfect play of Eric McCormack, and I can’t imagine another Daniel Piers as that played by Eric McCormack. Cancellation of show was stupid decision. As it is the sole tv-show full of sense with a lot of really interesting and fascinating facts. This Tv-show and Daniel Piers character made me to get into neuropsychology and to see how incredible and entertaining the science can be. All TV-show is really full of humor, humaneness, interesting characters. It shows really life episodes and makes other people to think about the choice, about… Read more »
I would like to see it come back. Great show
Unfortunate cancellation of a great show. The premise was a refreshing twist to the authoritarian models of cop/fbi shows. But alas, people had to think, and they also had to think about thinking, which is a big no-no for the braindead majority of the population. This is one show I would love to see come back. If only our comments here meant anything.
Really enjoyed Perception. Hate that it was cancelled without even an ending. Anything cerebral will never last.
we love this show
was looking forward to more of this well acted program
they put on rubbish and take off the good stuff
please bring it back .
Yet again another good show cancelled. What is wrong with these networks cancelling shows that people actually like to watch. Plus cancelling them right in the middle of the series with out giving it an ending.
Why starting so good series to end them so abrutltely. Perception should continue.
Dont do this! the story, the actors, the chemistry! there are just so many windows of opportunity for people to learn and get inspired from these great minds -13
I REALLY LIKED PERCEPTION. I HATE IT WHEN SHOWS STOP RATHER THAN END.
