Person of Interest will return to CBS at midseason, and there are hints that this could be the final season of the popular series. CBS only ordered 13 episodes for season five, and it is possible that the network could pick up the series for another year after those episodes, but the cast is prepared for it to be the end.
Michael Emerson told Collider in an interview shared back in September that “it feels like [the cast] is coming to the end of something.”
TV Line reported on the addition of Josh Close from Fargo as a recurring member of the cast for the series on Monday, and the report shared new comments made by Kevin Chapman about the season, and if it is the end – the series is going out with a big finish.
“I honestly can say that Season 5 is the best season we’ve ever had. The action, the performances, the subject matter…. Everything. They’ve really gone above and beyond.”

Love the teaser! Great payoff for those of us who are invested in these characters. I hope we get more PoI as it is a smart and thrilling show which has a surprising amount of emotional punch watching this group of broken misfits. I know it has wrung tears, gasps and laughter from my family.
this is my all time favorite series, the only one worth watching and I am in my 60s so I have seen a lot of sries in my lifetime.

I agree!!! I discovered it on WGN for reruns…and cannot wait to see newer shows!! I continue to watch and wait for the latest shows!! So, once again…PLEASE keep POI!! (And also Blue Bloods/NCIS/CODE BLACK/NCIS NEW ORLEANS)!! CBS rocks when it comes to great/intriguing/FAMILY shows!! Keep it up CBS…I am tuning into this station now as my “standard”!!!! And never ever thought I would say that!

I couldn’t agree more! There such awful stuff on tv that just keeps getting renewed, but this wonderful series is in danger of being cancelled. How can we stop it? I’m willing to sign a petition if anyone knows where to send one.
Have watched every episode at least twice. Very much enjoy the show. Believe CBS has moved its time & day so many times that viewers could never settle & it lost viewers.

Best show ever. Please continue the show. The action, creativity, acting and subject matter give us something far superior and thought provoking than all the other fare on television. There are only a few shows on television worth watching and POI is on the top of that list.
I really liked this series when it started it’s first season. Then, when the seasons 3 and 4 began to become more apocalyptic, my interest in the show started to wane. Maybe season 5 should get back to less doom and gloom, and bring back Sarah Shahi…. she’s the perfect partner to crime fighter and justice for the underdog character Jim Caviezel. Leave them doing what they do best !!
LOVE this series. Would hate to see it end. Here’s to many more seasons to come.
