Pit Bull & Parolees is ending its time on Animal Planet, and the 19th and final season will premiere next Saturday night. The series debuted 13 years ago this month, and 194 episodes and 51 specials have aired thus far. The final season will find Tia Maria Torres and her team at Villalobos Rescue Center facing Hurricane Ida and trying to keep the dogs and crew safe.
Animal Planet revealed more about the final season of Pit Bulls & Parolees in a press release.
For over 30 years, Tia and her family have gone above and beyond to give a second chance at life to pit bulls at Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest Pit Bull rescue center in the U.S. while also offering parolees a new start as staff and volunteers. Now, in the final season of “Pit Bulls & Parolees,” dedicated audiences will witness higher stakes as Tia and the Villalobos crew strive to give every dog an opportunity to find their forever home and a second chance at life. And while this may be the end of one chapter, the story of redemption and rescue continues for Tia and her Villalobos family in their never-ending battle to save man and man’s best friend. The final season of “Pit Bulls & Parolees” premieres on Animal Planet Saturday, Oct. 22 at 9PM ET/ PT.
In the season’s premiere, the Villalobos Rescue Center is tested as Hurricane Ida bears down on Louisiana, leaving Tia and the rest of the crew race to move the rescue dogs to safety amid the intense storm. We’ll also see Mariah take the reins for her first solo wolf-dog rescue named Dorothy from the streets of Louisiana, while Lizzy and Earl help a music-loving couple from Kentucky find their dream dog. Additionally, the premiere episode of “Pit Bulls & Parolees” is a part of Animal Planet’s annual “You Watch, We Give” tradition where for every viewer that tunes in to watch the season premiere on October 22, 2022 at 9PM ET/PT, Animal Plant will donate $1.00 to Villalobos Rescue Center up to the amount of $20,000, which will go toward food and shelter needs for rescued pit bulls.
Later this season, audiences will witness incredible rescue stories from far and wide. We’ll see Tia and daughter-in-law Lizzy answer a distress call from a shelter in Mississippi and take on eight hound dogs in desperate condition; the Villalobos team prep to welcome the public for a volunteer day as the new Villalobos Rescue Center location nears completion; daughter Mariah and her older brother Moe put their motorcycle passion to work by building a motorcycle sidecar in honor of her recently deceased dog, Tater, in order to give rides to older dogs at the rescue; and Apple, a senior dog who finally finds their forever home. Audiences will also witness Tia hire her first female parolee in Villalobos History to the team to see if she’ll be the right fit as a dog trainer and dog handler.
In addition to watching the show on Animal Planet, viewers can keep up with the latest news on social media by using the hashtag #PitBullsandParolees and follow Animal Planet on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.

What do you think? Are you sad to see Pit Bulls & Parolees end?
I’m super pissed off! This show has real heart. At the core of it is Tia and her marvelous kids who have grown to be kind and responsible adults and forged relationships with their partners and started family and all still share intense love for the dog rescue. It’s so real, You can’t fake this. I am so proud of all of them and it gives me joy that there is still real goodness in this world. TO ANIMAL PLANET: Bring back the show!!!
wish it would stay i enjoyed that show tia and staff have done one hell of a job for those dogs
I’m saddened to read that Pitbulls and Parolees is on its last season. I’ve been watching for years and have grown to love this show.
Hopefully, another station chooses to pick them up because I’d love to know if Tia’s husband has finally been released from prison and I’d be very interested in knowing how well her family continues with this rescue.
I can’t believe the show is being canceled, it’s a great show. I live in Georgia, I’ve always hoped to go over and Volunteer and if I liked it continue doing it at least one weekend a month. I think it’s the best show on animal planet. I hope another channel picks up their show, I think Ms. Tia and her family and staff are amazing people, and I hope they can keep up the great work. God bless you all!
I, too, am heartbroken. My recently deceased Mum introduced me to this programme and watching 2 episodes is the best way to start my day. I am in the UK and would like to find out how to make a donation on my Mum’s behalf.
Why is the show ending. I look forward to every episode. The show brought a lot of attention to the rescue, and helped find homes for a lot of the dogs. Please don’t end it.
I am very sad to hear that PB&P is going to end. I’ve been watching it for years and will miss seeing the progress and changes in the Rescue. I admire all of them for their determination, passion and compassion. I wish them all the best of luck in their future.
RENEW PITBULL AND PAROLEES. IT’S THE DOGS THAT WILL SUFFER FROM THIS. MY HEART IS BROKEN WATCHED THIS SHOW FROM DAY ONE
Pit Bulls and Parolees is the best show on TV — love, kindness, and sacrifice as the family gives all to save and protect those hundreds of dogs of all kinds. Every show has a heart-warming story of a rescue and/or, hopefully, an adoption into a loving, forever home! This show is making a difference in this world, but the Rescue will suffer greatly without this TV exposure. I pray the corporate decision-makers will recognize the viewer devotion and allow the show to continue. It is superior to so many other less desirable programs. God bless Tia, the family, and… Read more »
I am very dissapointed that “Pitbulls & Parolese” is ending. While I realize Tia & her family & workers have reduced privacy, I have been encouraged that they are people who love dogs & are willing to do all the dirty work to save them from death & abusive & sickening conditions. While they are not church goers, their life is a sacrifice of saving & loving dogs. I salute them!!!
They are all true heroes. But still, I shall miss them.
I am sad to know it’s ending… I have watched it from day 1… I hope and pray they keep doing their thing.. I pray that they all find love and peace and happiness in this chaotic world we live in.. I hope they do more great things in helping the pits and parolless on their journey… I hate to see the show go .. love them
I am very sad to see the show go and I’m very concerned for Tia and her family’s carrying on this wonderful rescue as I feel without the show the financial backing will no longer be what it was and these dogs still need rescuing
I am really sad to see it go. One of my favorites. Don’t understand why it is leaving Animal planet??
I am so sad to see this show come to an end. I just love all thst Tia and family and of course the parolees do. One of my favorite shows to watch, and I’m a cat person. Such dedication. Hopefully if they get enough supporters they will change their minds and stay. Wishing you all the best. Love all of you, Phyllis
Please do not cancel this wonderful show!!! I’ve been watching since they were in California (so am I) and I watch and record all reruns. This is absolutely one of my favorite tv shows and the reason I still bother keeping my cable subscription as I mostly stream now. All I watch on cable is news and Pitbulls and Parolees.
I hope the show goes on and this is a big mistake if they cancel it. I love Pit Bull and Parolees it is my favorite show, it is why I watch Animal Planet. I have been watching this show since it came on. I love Tia and her family, they have done so much for all the Pit Bulls. I have fallen in love with the breed, they are gentle and full of love. It is the people that treat them bad who use them in dog fights . I am praying this show will stay on and will… Read more »
