Poldark isn’t ending anytime soon. Radio Times reports season three of the BBC/PBS series has just begun filming.
Based on the novels by Winston Graham, the historical drama follows Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), a British soldier who returns to his English home after fighting in the American Revolution. The cast also includes Eleanor Tomlinson, Ruby Bentall, Beatie Edney, and Jack Farthing.
According to executive producer Karen Thrussell, season three will feature several new characters:
It’s with real excitement that we introduce three very talented young actors to the world of Poldark – Harry Richardson and Tom York playing Demelza’s brothers Drake and Sam, and Ellise Chappell as Morwenna, Elizabeth’s cousin. All are major players in the next volume of Winston Graham and Debbie Horsfield’s saga!”
Season two of Poldark debuts on September 25th on PBS. Season three is slated to premiere in 2017.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Poldark? Are you excited about the upcoming seasons?
Why would Elizabeth have to take a portion to make her baby with George come sooner. That makes no sense. Valentine was full term and she simply said he was premature. This is what she needed to do again.
Please never, ever cancel this show! It’s fabulous and I can hardly wait for season three!
Both my husband and i love this series. This is true quality viewing…PLEASE continute….and please not long inbetween seasons! The cast is wonderful to both love and hate……..perfect casting…perfect scenery thanks for one of the best on TV…
Love the show! Never thought I’d find a replacement for Downton Abby but I have. Aiden Turner is perfect as Ross Poldark.
Absolutely love the POLDARK series, as well as I loved Downton Abbey! The acting, the store line, the scenery….all are winners. Thank you for bringing this wonderful story by Winston Graham to the world.
