In its first 10-episode season, the Preacher TV show was AMC’s fourth highest rated series in the 18-49 year old demo and ranked fifth, in terms of total viewers. Because of that, it is really no surprise that AMC renewed it for an expanded second season of 13 episodes. Will their faith be rewarded? Will Preacher be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
A darkly comedic AMC supernatural drama from creators Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, Preacher stars Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Ian Colletti, and Graham McTavish. Noah Taylor, Pip Torrens, Julie Ann Emery, Malcolm Barrett, Justin Prentice, and Ronald Guttman join in the second season. AMC teases that Preacher season two follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Cooper), along with his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Negga) and Irish vampire Cassidy (Gilgun) as they take off on a road trip to find God. This thrusts them into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The first season of Preacher averaged a 0.62 in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and 1.675 total viewers.

Ppl claiming blasphemy obviously never read the graphic novels from which it derived. And honestly…the premise of God going awol should’ve turned those same ppl off from the jump. Preacher was a long time coming…no way AMC dumps it after 2 seasons!
This season is better than the first season and I imagine the third season will be even better. I sure hope that the powers that be realize that this show is one of the very few excellent shows on TV these days. Please keep it coming!
This season has been a let down from last season. It started with potential but when they crossed the moral border with the man in white being raped, mega blaspheme mocking handicapped people with Jesus so called ancestor, Mary Magdalene bring murdered by one of Christ disciples. The blaspheme caused me to drop the show,i liked it but the writers have gone in a dangerous direction this season. I know of 15 people who dropped the show after last night’s blaspheme episode. The show is based on a comic all of those things were in the comic and even more blasphemy if you’re that f****** religious I would recommend you don’t watch the show, and good for you and the 15 other people that drop the show because the show and the comic were made to make fun of people like you
So you think making fun of others is ok? Well blasphemy and making fun of others faith systems is ok with you. Who will you cry to when you are personally attacked for what you beleive? Will you just go out and hurt someone or should we just let everyone do as they will, and then just laugh at the people who got hurt.
I think you should have a sense of humor regarding all things. I’m a Native American, everything I believe in has been exploited, probably by you and your ancestors. You shouldn’t take things so seriously, God is what you make of him and Jesus was a man, born of a woman.

Yes, Please do boycott it just like the religious boycotted last temptation of christ. I mean boycott means you only agreed to go watch it 15 times right because it was the religious that made that two-hour long snuff film a megahit.

Renew!! Please!! As an adaptation it is pretty great. If you are watching it as a stand-alone it is AMAZING!!!!!!
It has been pretty much renewed, they already signed the contract for the filming locations for S3
Second season is just as fun and more substantial – Lovin it! What ever happen to Gregory? or Joffrey.. what ever your name is who was trying get this show cancelled? Haha! this show ROCKS! continue on PREACHER!
The initial season was well done, however the current season appears to lack the creativity and consistency (in both character depth and plot lines) that characterized Season 1. Sad. It was exceptional entertainment.
I feel the exact opposite way – the 2nd season has more character depth than the first by far, just fewer characters in general perhaps.
This is my absolute favorite show on right now. It’s smart, funny, action packed, dark and violent all at the same time. Amazing cast and writing. Was shocked to find out Seth Rogan was a big part of it, considering I an NOT A FAN of his.

Yes, the show will be renewed. I don’t know what the cutoff would be for AMC to cancel it, especially since they renewed The Good Son with a 0.16 and Humans with a 0.14
I am amazed that people think it is alright to portray Jesus as an adulterer (girl says husband not coming home) and his lineage a result of inbreeding. Saying don’t watch and it’s just good fun is just a way to try to deflect what this really is . A sacrilegious show that is shocking and violent and truly a reflection of how low we as a society have sunk. I think Preacher will get a season 3 and I’m 100% percent OK with seeing The Unholy Trinity get another season.
I LOVE this show, I really like AMC as well. Please keep our show on. Being a huge fan, Preacher is awesome…unique and “new”, just plain better television
Only 3 episodes, but ratings look good enough for renewal as of this moment.
The ratings look terrible: -36.23% % demo change, and -30.24% mil change in viewer number. It means that the show list one-third of its viewers. That is bad, bad as can be.
I love this show! It’s crazy and fun, and anything but boring like “Dancing with the Stars,” and other reality crap!
