Last season, Revolution was the highest-rated show on NBC but the ratings fell throughout the season, even with The Voice as a lead-in. What will happen now that the show’s been moved to Wednesdays? Will it see a third season or will it be cancelled instead? We’ll have to wait and see.
Revolution revolves around the Matheson family and others who live in a world where there is no longer any power. The cast includes Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Giancarlo Esposito, Zak Orth, David Lyons, JD Pardo, Stephen Collins, and Elizabeth Mitchell.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/9 update: NBC has cancelled Revolution after two seasons and 44 episodes.
5/22 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Revolution averaged a 2.6 rating in the demo and 7.21 million viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Revolution TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for third season?
I don’t know why they had to cancel this fantastic program. It is truly an escape for my wife and me. If they think the ratings are low, maybe they should consider how many people use DVR to record (especially is they are survivor fans!) to watch later. We DVR it if we have to be elsewhere. I think it is a very dumb idea to cancel a show with so powerful a plot.
I am so sad about Revolution being cancelled. Every time I started loving a tv show it gets taken off the air after 2 seasons. Its so frustrating.
I advise everybody that watched this show to email NBC and tell them ******** how you feel….I did and received at least some response…telling me they will look into it. Yeah right….Maybe syfy or tnt might pick up this program……I hope
Just put season two on Netflix give it a couple sponsors to promote it a bit. I guarantee this show has a lot of potential it’s a very odd but cool what if this happened tv show.
WTF, NBC???? This show is awesome! And there are sooook many of unanswered questions! !
This is to bad. My wife and I watch this dhow every week. I don’t really like the whole Nano story line, but love the rest of it. Wish there was someway not t8 cancel it.
My wife and I truly enjoy Revolution and make sure nothing gets in the way to stop us from watching every episode. Thank God for DVR’s when we can’t get to the tube on a Wed. evening. I’m not a producer, but I think you are making a big mistake. Let’s pray for a change of heart.
I am extremely disappointed at this cancellation. I loved this show to death! It combined science fiction and adventure and even romance. NBC has really let me and so many other fans down.
I wish this wasn’t canceled. Another channel should pick it up
Shocked and appalled. Now that season two will be over tonight, it feels like whomever was not fully committed. Not a lot has happened and not really sure why, but I still tuned in every week. I wouldn’t have bothered if I had known they would end it so abruptly. How much they could have done and how far they could have gone with the various sub-plots that it is a shame to see them just stop. I feel cheated. I held my end of the bargain. I showed up each week. I committed. What a shame!
This was the only show on TV I made a point of watching each week. Problem is, society… including NBC… needs instant gratification these days. A good story has ebbs and flows, this was building to the next big moment and now we don’t get to see it. NBC didn’t help by moving it from Mon to Wed and skipping a couple months worth of episodes during this season for no apparent reason. Please NBC… reconsider or sell it to another network that appreciates the genius behind this show. After all, you put up with the slow weeks of Grey’s… Read more »
WHY WOULD YOU CANCEL REVOLUTION ,BELIEVE,CRISES AND OTHER GOOD ONES? DO YOU HAVE IDIOTS RUNNING THINGS THERE?BRING REVOLUTION BACK YOUR LOSING A LOT OF VIEWERS WHATS WRONG WITH YOU GUESS COME ON!
I totally agree. I was shocked to hear they were canceling revolution, believe, and crises. Revolution is my favorite show right now and I was just getting into crises. Believe too. I don’t know what is wrong with NBC.
I don’t get why they keep canceling great shows like this, They should realize that if you keep taking 6 months to a year to produce more episodes without reruns in between that it does not matter how good a show is people will forget about it. Not to mention People get tired of shows that just are canceled without a ending episode so they will just quit watching new shows in fear of a letdown 2 seasons later.
Revolution is a good series I looked
forward to each week. I was very disappointed when Jason was killed. I can’t believe the network is cancelling this show with so many loose ends. i.e. Aaron & the nano tech, the patriots etc. I realize this is pointless arguing to keep it on the air. Once a network cancels a show they don’t listen to public feedback. Too bad. There will be many disappointed viewers.
I agree with Rex. Good shows are getting cancelled. NBC used to have patience with a show, i.e. Seinfield, Cheers, Night Court, Miami Vice etc. They OWNED those night, but the shows did not do well but caught on. The current executives at the “big” three are probably under 40 and don’t have a clue about longevity. Hopefully it will be picked up by one of the cable channels that are starting to eat NBC’s CBS’s and ABC’s lunch. The younger mindless generation have no clue about a good long term show, but it does seem the cable channels are… Read more »
Revolution is an awesome show! It has a huge fandom! And it definitely should not have been cancelled. Seems like good television shows get cancelled all the time these days. There’s too much catering to the younger generation with this Reality TV crap & Crime Shows. Good shows that require a thought process to follow along seem to be a thing of the past, and that’s a shame. And for the syfy fans out there, there’s even less of a choice of shows to watch. Revolution combined syfy, with real world problems and deep characters that the audience could relate… Read more »
