The 10-episode first season of the Roadies TV show premiered on Showtime, June 26, 2016. Executive producer Winnie Holzman talks about the possibilities a second season of Roadies might bring. Holzman previously worked on TV series including Huge, which was cancelled after one season on ABC Family (now Freeform), Once and Again, which was cancelled after one season on ABC, and My So-Called Life which was also cancelled after one season on the Alphabet Network.
A musical comedy drama series from Cameron Crowe, the Roadies TV series has yet to be renewed for season two. The cast includes: Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker, and Ron White.

Are you thinking ahead to future seasons? Would this group of people stay with this band for multiple tours?
HOLZMAN: I think that will be up to Cameron and the conversations we have with Showtime, but we feel very elastic about it. We feel like we could stay with this band and continue. You could have it that a lot of these roadies end up on another tour. You could have it that they end up in another tour. I think it would be fun to mix it up. I can picture playing it out so many different ways, and I think that’s part of the fun of this show. You could keep this core group of roadies together, but you could have various things happen.
Here is more on the first season of the Roadies TV series, from Showtime:
The series gives an insider’s look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of roadies who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way. ROADIES chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music’s unsung heroes and pays homage to the backstage workers who put the show on the road while touring for the successful arena-level group, The Staton-House Band.

This show is excellent. And re-watchable. And bingeable. And all sorts of other fabulous things. I love it!
This is a show that grows on you. I admit I was skeptical after episode 1 but my girlfriend wanted to keep watching. Since then i have come to really like the characters and guest bands. I Iove that openers never stick around for a second show. Too many heavy drama soaps these days (like Empire) and i find it’s great to wind the evening down with a little more light-hearted fare that’s funny, sexy, quirky, and with good music. I wish more people were aware of it.
I don’t understand the people who say that they love this show. Now, it’s not terrible, but I do have to say that I feel it’s one of those shows that make you feel manipulated and dirty after watching it because it seems like they introduce “cute” story lines just for the sake of entertainment, rather than to advance the story of the character’s arcs. For example, let’s have different characters say “it is what it is” throughout the episode just because it’s funny. It’s not that funny and it makes the show look way too produced as opposed to… Read more »
You missed the point of the It is what it is show. It was more than just that saying. I think its very cleverly written and I discovered it and binged until being caught up for last nights episode. To each his own I guess. It is what it is.
This show is absolutely amazing. It is very well done and worth the time to watch.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for Season 2!
I absolutely love this tv show. Please don’t make the mistake of cancelling it like Freaks and Geeks. Learn from the mistakes of others.
I love ROADIES and can’t wait for a Season 2! European Tour???? Awesome!!!!
I think Reg is one of the best characters on television right now. He’s a keeper. I wouldn’t mind several of the other roadies gone, though.
I love this show – it at least deserves a second season.
Absolutely love the show!! I was quite surprised to discover critics reviews were mediocre. It’s unusual for me to watch episodic tv. This show is a gem…actors, characters, writing and of course…Love the music!!
As old folks who have never written a request like this – we are asking that you continue Roadies – great characters – a real hoot – so original.
We love it!!
I love it please don’t cancel
It has improved with each episode. 3rd episode with Linsey Buchingham was very good. I hope Showtime gives a chance to hit it’s stride.
Fantastic show so far! Massive fan of Cameron’s work. Any fans of “Untitled” will love “Roadies”. I hope they green light a 2nd series.
Terrible show.
Glad I can not see things through your eyes :\
Should be cancelled very boring show
I haven’t yet caught it, Jim. What makes it boring? I like Cameron Crowe’s work and have been looking forward to catching up on the series.
Well it depends on what you are liking for Jim, if you want the fast and the furious continuous car racing then this show is not for you. If you want to think and feel you might like it.
Ditto…how does the ‘old saying go’ 2 peas in a pod?
