As reported earlier today, the Rosewood TV show has been cancelled after two seasons on FOX. Now, stars Morris Chestnut and Jaina Lee Ortiz have responded to the cancellation. Check out their reactions, below.
A FOX police procedural, Rosewood centers on charming Miami pathologist, Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. (Chestnut) and Detective Annalise Villa (Ortiz). Gabrielle Dennis, Anna Konkle, Lorraine Toussaint, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Eddie Cibrian also star. The season two, and now Rosewood TV series finale episode, “Blistering Heat & Brotherly Love,” first aired on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Morris Chestnut on the Rosewood Cancellation
Taking to Instagram, Chestnut wrote:
I am very grateful about the part that everyone took in Rosewood’s journey, because everyone was truly an integral part; the writers who crafted great story-lines, the actors who brought these stories to life, the production crew who sustained the show’s infrastructure, and the terrific fans who embraced this phenomenon and became just as much a part of Rosewood as anyone else.
FOX provided a platform for a show that made strides in diversity and the images it projected, as all-inclusive. We were able to peer into the lives of characters who displayed their hopes, dreams, courage and fears. Rosewood also helped reinforce a newer definition of Family, as a group of people who most care for and support one another.
The #Rosewood family, itself was an Extremely Special group of people who’ll be friends forever.This is not only a part of the industry, it’s a part of life. Jaina Lee Ortiz Says Goodbye to Rosewood
Ortiz also posted to Instagram, saying:
Today is a special day. Today I say goodbye to my very first show, Rosewood.
I say goodbye to Detective Annalise Villa. Damn, I’m gonna miss that woman.
To my partner in crime/the guy who mentored me and showed me the ropes on set. The beautiful Morris Chestnut, and when I say beautiful, I mean his HEART, his SOUL. He is the most selfless person I think I’ve ever met. Kind and gracious.
Our rock. Our captain.
5 days a week, 14 hours a day, he became one of my best-friends.
Love you, Morrisito.
The cast…you’re my family.
To all the hardworking crew and writers… you showed me what “movie magic” was really made out of. It’s created on the backs of your hard work.
Last but not least, this show and it’s incredible characters were created by Todd Harthan. This guy said yes when everyone else told me no, and it has changed my life forever. I adore you. 💙
Gotta give a shoutout to all the fans who have supported and loved us from day 1. The love you expressed via social media for the characters and the story is something we will cherish forever.

I loved this show and the people in it. So many stinky shows were renewed and here is a winner canceled. Good luck to you all.
Very disappointed that they have cancelled this show. We used to watch a lot of shows on Fox but now the last three shows that we watched Bones, Rosewood and Pitch have been cancelled. Hopefully another Network will pick up Rosewood. FOX very disappointed in your Network, you have nothing on your current line up that appeal to us and I have heard the same from many others.
I am disappointed to learn that one of my favorite shows ( Rosewood) is now being canceled.
Fox has canceled Bones and now Rosewood. Several other shows that I really have enjoyed are now not shown on this channel. If Fox keeps that up I will have no reason to watch this channel at all. Fox think before you act.
Man, am I disappointed. Love this show. Who has more expendable income, me (62) or some 20 something that isn’t even home on Friday nights? Now, with Bones and Castle both gone, if CBS cancels Elementary, I’ll have NO male/female crime solving shows. VERY disappointed…
I can’t begin to voice the disappointment. Really. The acting was great, the story lines intriguing (and I’m not new to the genre so that says alot)…celebrated loyalty and family and becoming better a better person through hardships. Adult intelligence and not vulgar. But American Horror Story thrives for numerous seasons? I would like to say though that I felt the writers handled the last episode well knowing cancellation was a possibility. You people can’t get anything Right! For crying out loud, this show was great…heaven forbid it didn’t have all the horrible cussing and such so of course it didn’t make it. Starting to think twice about watching regular TV anymore. Why start something when all you do is cancel it.
Why,why,why? That is the only show that I couldn’t wait to watch and had to watch it the night it came on! You guys didn’t put enough effort into this show because it had so much potential! Please reconsider this decision
Rosewood was one of the best shows on TV. I am highly disappointed as I looked 4ward to a new season. The show was actually a show you can learn from, not just entaertsinment. I truly LOVED❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️That fabulous cast. Fix Five truly needs to reconsidered as I only watch Rosewood on that station.

I have cancel all my shows i watch on fox, i am tired of good shows being cancel for theses kmart rentals they put on afterwards. Bye fox you blew it. I hope another network picks it up.

My husband and I are so, so disappointed to learn the show is being cancelled. We thought it was brilliantly written and the chemistry between Rosie and Villa was amazing. I wish they would reconsider the decision to cancel the series.
Heartsick about the cancellation. FOX sucks with this cancellation. Won’t watch station anymore.
