As reported earlier today, the Rosewood TV show has been cancelled after two seasons on FOX. Now, stars Morris Chestnut and Jaina Lee Ortiz have responded to the cancellation. Check out their reactions, below.
A FOX police procedural, Rosewood centers on charming Miami pathologist, Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. (Chestnut) and Detective Annalise Villa (Ortiz). Gabrielle Dennis, Anna Konkle, Lorraine Toussaint, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Eddie Cibrian also star. The season two, and now Rosewood TV series finale episode, “Blistering Heat & Brotherly Love,” first aired on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Morris Chestnut on the Rosewood Cancellation
Taking to Instagram, Chestnut wrote:
I am very grateful about the part that everyone took in Rosewood’s journey, because everyone was truly an integral part; the writers who crafted great story-lines, the actors who brought these stories to life, the production crew who sustained the show’s infrastructure, and the terrific fans who embraced this phenomenon and became just as much a part of Rosewood as anyone else.
FOX provided a platform for a show that made strides in diversity and the images it projected, as all-inclusive. We were able to peer into the lives of characters who displayed their hopes, dreams, courage and fears. Rosewood also helped reinforce a newer definition of Family, as a group of people who most care for and support one another.
The #Rosewood family, itself was an Extremely Special group of people who’ll be friends forever.This is not only a part of the industry, it’s a part of life. Jaina Lee Ortiz Says Goodbye to Rosewood
Ortiz also posted to Instagram, saying:
Today is a special day. Today I say goodbye to my very first show, Rosewood.
I say goodbye to Detective Annalise Villa. Damn, I’m gonna miss that woman.
To my partner in crime/the guy who mentored me and showed me the ropes on set. The beautiful Morris Chestnut, and when I say beautiful, I mean his HEART, his SOUL. He is the most selfless person I think I’ve ever met. Kind and gracious.
Our rock. Our captain.
5 days a week, 14 hours a day, he became one of my best-friends.
Love you, Morrisito.
The cast…you’re my family.
To all the hardworking crew and writers… you showed me what “movie magic” was really made out of. It’s created on the backs of your hard work.
Last but not least, this show and it’s incredible characters were created by Todd Harthan. This guy said yes when everyone else told me no, and it has changed my life forever. I adore you. 💙
Gotta give a shoutout to all the fans who have supported and loved us from day 1. The love you expressed via social media for the characters and the story is something we will cherish forever.

Yes ! I watch all both season. The need to give them another season. Dont cancel. It so much more storie line you can add.
I loved this show! Yet again, Fox cancels a great show after setting it up for failure (i.e. change in time slots / later time slots / not enough exposure). This show was great but I honestly can’t stand this network! Lie to Me, Pitch, Arrested Development and now this! You really can’t get attached to any characters on this network because it’s a sure bet that it won’t stick around long. Farewell Rosewood! It truly has been a pleasure. I really enjoyed this cast and the characters so much! Fox you suck.

Television wise, “Rosewood”, is one of three shows I actually look forward to watching and now it seems I’m down to two shows again. Storylines were intelligent, it has the “right” amount of drama and uncertainty and lastly but not least the “touch but don’t touch” between Morris and Jaina, provided love/intimacy. Why is it when a law enforcement show consists of minorities it has a short life span? “BRING BACK THE WOOD”.
Boo hiss! They should not cancel this show! It’s full of life! We really need to see what the future holds for Rosey and the crew. Please reconsider and keep one of the good shows on! So tired of shows that have little bad language and no sex being the ones that get axed! Some of us enjoy real bantering and watching people who actually seem to enjoy acting together!
This was one of the most magical best shows on TV. The chemistry between the principals was so wonderful. I will miss the banter reminiscent of Nick and Nora, or Castle. So sad when good shows get the axe. If there is any chance another network can pick this up, it would be wonderful.
Please bring it back!!! It was a wonderful show with a superb cast! It made devoted viewers feel like a part of the family. There is such a dearth of good shows on tv why take one of the good ones?! Please! Please! Please reconsider!!!!!!!

I can’t believe it. That was one of the best shows on TV. I loved that show . I loved the Dynamic between Rosewood and Detective Villa. I am truly not happy this day. I hope that someone changes their minds and please bring this awesome show back . I hope the actors understand that their efforts were truly appreciated by me and will be missed.
I will miss rosewood. Wish they didn’t cancel it. Loved the interaction between the actors. Thank you to the he cast and crew for 2 seasons of enjoyment. Hope you all find new jobs soon. Am distressed with Fox’s decision to cancel Rosewood. One more reason NOT to watch Fox!
So upset Rosewood has been cancelled. It was a great show. FOX network is making a mistake yet again.

Of course they are getting rid of the show. They put it on on Friday night when the majority of 18-49 do not watch TV on Friday. This stinks. It was a great show!!
