As reported earlier today, the Rosewood TV show has been cancelled after two seasons on FOX. Now, stars Morris Chestnut and Jaina Lee Ortiz have responded to the cancellation. Check out their reactions, below.
A FOX police procedural, Rosewood centers on charming Miami pathologist, Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. (Chestnut) and Detective Annalise Villa (Ortiz). Gabrielle Dennis, Anna Konkle, Lorraine Toussaint, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Eddie Cibrian also star. The season two, and now Rosewood TV series finale episode, “Blistering Heat & Brotherly Love,” first aired on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Morris Chestnut on the Rosewood Cancellation
Taking to Instagram, Chestnut wrote:
I am very grateful about the part that everyone took in Rosewood’s journey, because everyone was truly an integral part; the writers who crafted great story-lines, the actors who brought these stories to life, the production crew who sustained the show’s infrastructure, and the terrific fans who embraced this phenomenon and became just as much a part of Rosewood as anyone else.
FOX provided a platform for a show that made strides in diversity and the images it projected, as all-inclusive. We were able to peer into the lives of characters who displayed their hopes, dreams, courage and fears. Rosewood also helped reinforce a newer definition of Family, as a group of people who most care for and support one another.
The #Rosewood family, itself was an Extremely Special group of people who’ll be friends forever.This is not only a part of the industry, it’s a part of life. Jaina Lee Ortiz Says Goodbye to Rosewood
Ortiz also posted to Instagram, saying:
Today is a special day. Today I say goodbye to my very first show, Rosewood.
I say goodbye to Detective Annalise Villa. Damn, I’m gonna miss that woman.
To my partner in crime/the guy who mentored me and showed me the ropes on set. The beautiful Morris Chestnut, and when I say beautiful, I mean his HEART, his SOUL. He is the most selfless person I think I’ve ever met. Kind and gracious.
Our rock. Our captain.
5 days a week, 14 hours a day, he became one of my best-friends.
Love you, Morrisito.
The cast…you’re my family.
To all the hardworking crew and writers… you showed me what “movie magic” was really made out of. It’s created on the backs of your hard work.
Last but not least, this show and it’s incredible characters were created by Todd Harthan. This guy said yes when everyone else told me no, and it has changed my life forever. I adore you. 💙
Gotta give a shoutout to all the fans who have supported and loved us from day 1. The love you expressed via social media for the characters and the story is something we will cherish forever.

Why would you cancel my favorite show? I am going to miss this cast more than any I have ever watched! They all compliment each other so well. I thought this show was going to go on for years! Please bring it back?

I feel y’all should have at least waited until the end of season 3 to end the show right the season 2 went off leaves everyone guessing that not cool at all please give it to season 3.
The final show aired in the UK this week and after checking for the next series I find it cancelled! Absolutely gutted! Please reconsider or at least give the show a double show finale!
Why would you cancel a good tv show that obviously a lot of people enjoyed? It is sad how these networks get you interested and hooked on a show to just take it off the air. Disappointing to say the least. I wish a different network would pick up the show. I would love to have it back!

Fox has lost their minds. Seldom do you find a show that is interesting, somewhat clean & has episodes that make you want to come back. What did the main character no kiss Fox execs backside enough? Come on, you had a winner (something you certainly do have much of) & you get rid of a great show like this. Enjoy sucking mud on the bottom because this is where you belong.
BRING BACK Rosewood.
Please I plea bring the show back, I don’tdo any social media and if you bring it back. I will post, tweet, instagram, YouTube, snapchat , facebook, make a tumblr page, actually use my goggle+ shout from the roof tops everyday if you bring the show back. What happen behind the scenes to end this can be fixed things can always be fixed. I hope this post finds the lights to making this come true.
Seriously upset that Rosewood is not coming back. Loved the actors and story line. so many loose ends that didn’t get a conclusion. was anxiously anticipated Morris and Jaina getting together. Show offered middle of the road cop show but including personal stuff with characters. I love Lethal Weapon for this reason because you get into the personal stuff with the characters and not just the cops and robbers story line. PLEASE BRING BACK THESE GREAT ACTORS IN ANOTHER SERIES.
Absolutely renew this show. Why is this even a question? Great story, diverse cast, plus you left us in the middle of a very important story arc.

What a big mistake you made in cancelling this fabulous show!! Please don’t replace it with a ridiculous reality show!! Rosewood was a cleverly written show with very wonderful actors.
I also just started watching this show through Netflix. I watched the entire season in 2 days because I couldn’t stay away from it, all I wanted was to see what would happen in the next episode. I started looking online to find some info on season 2 and was extremely disappointed to find out it was cancelled. The show was an awesome show the stories were greatly written.
