Airing on the CBS television network, Salvation stars Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance, Shazi Raja, and Ian Anthony Dale. This suspense thriller follows MIT graduate student Liam Cole (Rowe) and tech genius Darius Tanz (Cabrera). Because they don’t want to cause public panic, the two present Pentagon Press Secretary, Grace Barrows (Finnigan), with evidence that in six months, a huge asteroid will crash into the Earth. Telly’s Take
Salvation premiered with low ratings and they’ve gotten even worse. Unless CBS has made enough deals to cover a good amount of the costs for this series, I would be shocked if this series came back for a second season.Subscribe for free updates on any cancellation and renewal news.
10/18/17 update: CBS has renewed Salvation for a second season of 13 episodes. Details here.

What do you think? Are you glad that the Salvation TV show was renewed for a second season? How would you have felt if CBS had cancelled this TV show, instead?
Please do not cancel Salvation. The best summer show. More promotion would help get it out there.
I really like the show please don’t cancel it it needs to be renewed for a second season and if the Earth is destroyed then you have an option for the Salvation trip to Mars
I really like the show. I think it should be renewed for a second season. I think the cast have great chemistry together which makes the characters draw you in to the story.
A rare show that both my wife and I love. I’m sci fi tech, she’s more drama. This one has a great balance of both, not to mention the political intrigue.
I love this show. Don’t cancel. I don’t think you do enough to advertise this show. If it is cancelled I sure hope you give us a decent ending.
I love this show. Please give us a clear ending– No Cliffhanger and then no second season
We no longer watch shows week to week. We DVR them and binge watch them. Some shows are canceled before we get to see what they’re about.Enjoying Salvation hope it’s renewed.
Great show.. just like pure genius!! Why would you cancel it??????? Please renew
Please renew Salvation! Love it and it’s way better than all those reality, cops and doctors show. By far the best show that CBS has aired in awhile.
Im sick of CBS creating great shows, and then canceling them before they get a foothold.
I loved Emerald City, and they canceled it. Even Seinfeld took several seasons before it took off. Yet garbage like CSI Whatever stays on the air
I’m surprised to see that Salvation has such low ratings. I think that it’s finally a “new” idea in tv drama. (If I see one more cop drama, or ER/doctor show I will consider the networks to be completely unable to grasp modern audiences. Hell, PBS can do better!) But Salvation has technology, love, military, politics…suspense. It really has the goods. I look forward to it every week! But I can’t see future seasons…either the gravity tractor works, and audiences must manage the whole post-apocalyptic world war thing or the asteroid hits and they do season 2 in space? But… Read more »
I love Salvation it is full of twist and turns. CBS – Salivation should be promote as “Expect the Unexpected!” Best show on this summer. Please RENEW Salvation!!!
I LOVE this show! Great cast!!!
Hi:
This is a great show, I got several of my friends watching now, so we can all discuss it. I hope there is season 2 so they can save the world or not???
I thought it was only a summer series. Anyway, I like the show alot. It’s campy fun. But Ian Anthony Dale is now a regular on Hawaii 5-0, so he wouldn’t be back anyway and he’s one of my favs.
Dale is no longer a cast member on Hawaii Five-0; earlier this year, Daniel Dae Kim & Grace Park (Kono, who is married to Dale’s character on the show) left Hawaii Five-0 due to failed contract Negotiations (ie; unfair salaries). So, Dale’s character on the show will not be returning, in the wake of Grace Park’s exit from the show. Salvation is a very fun, slick, compelling political drama with hints of sci-fi & high tech sensibilities. As many mourn the passing of terrific shows with great potential axed in favor of really bad drivel (“Forever” comes to mind, in… Read more »
