Even though, during the last couple of seasons, the Scorpion TV show has dropped off significantly in the ratings, CBS has opted not to cancel it. The fourth season — which kicks off with a musical episode — will provide this action drama with a decent sized syndication package. Could it spell the end? Will Scorpion cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Inspired by the life of a real computer expert, Scorpion stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kay Thomas, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Robert Patrick, Riley B. Smith, Andy Buckley, Jamie McShane, Joshua Leonard, Dan Dratch, and Scott Porter.
On the CBS series, Walter O’Brien (Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits are the country’s last line of defense against lurking high-tech threats. As Team Scorpion, these members of Homeland Security’s think tank solve the nation’s crises, even as they help one other on their quest to fit in. At the start of season four, they find themselves working with their nemesis, Mark Collins (Leonard), to prevent the extinction of the human race. Meanwhile, Walter and Paige (McPhee) feel awkward as they try to navigate their new relationship.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The third season of Scorpion averaged a 1.20 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.23 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like Scorpion TV series? Should CBS cancel or renew it for a fifth season?
*5/12/18 update: CBS has cancelled the Scorpion TV show so there won’t be a fifth season. Details here.
I am very upset that you’re canceling scorpion extremely upset I hope at least you let happy and Toby have a baby and Paige and Walter get married at least before you take it off I love watching it every Monday I look forward to seeing the TV show on I have watched it from the beginning but I guess it’s not making you all enough money to keep it on
I really enjoy watching Scorpion! Please renew it for a fifth season. I have been watching all the episodes over & over.
Love this show!
I look forward weekly to the dissecting of relationships and the miscues that lead to misunderstandings. I love it.
please, please renew. Thank you
Please renew Scorpion. Thank you!
Please renew this show
Please Renew this wonderful show!
I love the show. Please keep showing it.
Please keep Scorpian. It’s extremely entertaining!
YES, please renew. Smart writing. Engaging science problems and the equations. All fun stuff.
Yes please please,season 5.
Bring the team back together. Then the rating may increase, but give it at least one more season
Scorpion should definitely be allowed to continue for fifth season. It is an unique show, which focuses on problem-solving – with intellect instead of guns. I think it’s good alternative show for kids, and most of us adults enjoy it a lot too.
I love Scorpion! Some of the romance confusion may be exhausting the ratings a smidge. No one wants hurt feelings of the characters we care about do much. Threats of this happening may be occurring just a bit too often. Can’t stand looking at the TV schedule and not seeing Scorpion on there!
This series is incredibly exciting and brilliant!
I can’t imagine if they drop this show, which means the scorpions will end up separated.
And that sucks.
Season 5, please?
