Tonight marks the second season finale of the Scream TV series on MTV. But, will it be the last episode of the entire series? Will it return for a third season? Should it be cancelled?
Season two of the Scream TV show picks up with Emma Duval (Willa Fitzgerald) returning to Lakewood. She’s spent several months at a retreat and hopes to put the horrific events of last season behind her. Good luck with that. The rest of the cast includes Amadeus Serafini, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Carlson Young, Conner Weil, John Karna, Kiana Lede, Santiago Segura, Sean Grandillo, Tom Maden, and Mike Vaughn (voice only).
The first season of Scream averaged a 0.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 750,000 viewers. Those weren’t great ratings and the current season’s numbers have dropped a lot lower. The nine installments have averaged 0.19 in the demo and 380,000 viewers — more than a 45% drop season-to-season.
Based on the ratings alone, it seems unlikely that MTV will order a third season but, these days, you never know.

Please renew! I don’t have Netflix therefore I couldn’t watch it on there! I have watched every episode of scream. I am a die hard ‘scream’ fan for sure!! I was actually pretty surprised that Kiaren was piper’s acquaintance! Really hoping there will be a season 3 on MTV so I can keep fallowing it! Seems like every show I get caught on it gets taken off the air! Recently one of my favorites finding Carter was taking off the air also!
Pleeeeeeeeeeassssseee renew the season for a Season 3!!! And ya…if not…let Netflix take it over. How can it end when it isn’t just Kieran as the killer? How is that when he gets the call while in jail.
