This fantasy adventure series is based on the young adult fantasy book series by Cassandra Clare, The Mortal Instruments. The books have been popular for years. On the Shadowhunters TV show, young Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) celebrates her 18th birthday at a New York City nightclub and sees a group of teenagers with supernatural abilities attacking a demon. She realizes that she is the only person who can see them and later learns that she’s one of a long line of demon hunters. When her mother is kidnapped, she must join other hunters to try to save her, all while learning about her new supernatural abilities. The rest of the cast includes Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Matthew Daddario, Emeraude Toubia, Isaiah Mustafa, and Harry Shum, Jr.

I like the show more than I thought I would! I love the books and always thought that they could have been made into great movies, much like The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, and the Harry Potter books were turned into great movies. I would like to see Shadowhunters return, with the same actors. I think it would also be great if Cassandra Clare could at the very least be called in as a consultant to the writers/editors.

This show is truly amazing. It’s more modern and fresh version of the books and some people (like me) actually really appreciate it. It’s following the main plot line and ideas but it has made some changes. Personally I like these changes and a lot of other people do as well. They keep the show interesting and unpredictable. As for the acting most of the cast is doing a really good job. Yes some need to improve on their acting but that can only happen if we get a season 2. So I’m begging you to renew this show. I loved the books and even though the t.v show has taken a few different turns I am really enjoying it 🙂 The Movie was horrible and jumpy so I am glad they have started going into the shadow hunter details more in the T.V show.
I was still on the fence about the show so I did something I shouldn’t have and looked at the promo photos for the next couple of episodes. I won’t give any spoilers, but looks like they took the book or more accurately books, and just shot them out the window. I was fine at first with the level of changes, as long as the plot for the most part stayed the same, but #$%$!. Please Renew!! I love the show! If you’ve read all the books, you’ll realize they are picking some of the best pieces of each and putting them together to start the story. There are a few differences but from here they can expand the story line for future seasons.
