Is there life left deep within the Ellcrys Tree? The upcoming Paramount Network has cancelled The Shannara Chronicles after two seasons. Reportedly the producer, Sonar Entertainment, is shopping season three of The Shannara Chronicles to other outlets. Shannara and its fans are used to moving. Despite the fact that its first season was the number one scripted series on MTV, parent company Viacom moved it to Spike TV for season two, ahead of that cable channel’s rebranding as Paramount Network, which happens this Thursday.
The Shannara Chronicles stars Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Aaron Jakubenko, Marcus Vanco, Vanessa Morgan, Malese Jow, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie, and Desmond Chiam. When season two kicked off on Spike, chaos had overtaken the Four Lands, as a body called The Crimson began to hunt down magic users. For now, the season two finale, episode 2.10, “Blood” will serve as The Shannara Chronicles TV series finale.

What do you think? Are you a fan of The Shannara Chronicles TV series? Will another network pick up the third season? Where would you like to see The Shannara Chronicles land?
Th show was very well put together and I believe deserves a shot at redemption (season 3). It was wrongly advertised and put on a channel us SC fans didn’t even know of the switch over. lease bring it back for S#3, we love this show!
The best fantasy series I saw. Please don’t let it finish
I absolutely love the shannara chronicles! I can’t believe they canceled the series! Im truly heartbroken! Hopefully another network picks it up!
I hope that it returns also. I think one of the streaming services could do well with this show.
Please find a home for it I’m 35 first books I ever read got me into reading and it’s a great show compared to other shows of books of the same time
Would like to see a season three. Honestly I didn’t catch on to it until Netflix aired it, but that’s I how I get turned on to alot of shows I otherwise wouldn’t get to see. I’m 42 and love it, so do my kids. It’s fun, magical, and adventurous…and sexy in a PG 13 way. We escspists love a good epic fantasy series, it would get better ratings if they amped up the marketing and kept improving the effects. Season two was even better than one.
Love season 1, still watching season 2 and hope that someone will buy season 3. I am from the Netherlands by the way
The shannara chronicles was one of the best shows iv seen on TV and to leave it on a cliff hanger and adding to be continued then canceling the show that’s just wrong please bring the show back 🙂
Love love love Shannara Chronicles. Love the charaters. Hoping SYFY or TNT may pick up the show and replay Season 1 and 2. Then continue with Season 3 etc. I understand it’s not like the books yet still entertaining!
I loved the show, if they would of advertised the change in the network the ratings would of been better. By the time i realized the second season was on it was almost over. Why did it move to spike wben it was doing well on mtv? Please bring it back its a great series but let the public know when and where its being shown. Theres other ways to let the viewers know about a series other than subscribing To the site why not spend some money on advertising show some rerun shows with a marathon like other series… Read more »
Love this show, I hope Netflix picks it up
Typical, Cancel a something good and different but continue showing lameassed crap like The Bachelor, Survivor, the Voice and the Amazing (annoying) Race. on these shows they do the same thing over and over and over just different feces oh I meant faces.
I watched both seasons and it’s a shame that the scriptwriters didn’t stay closer to the books. The writers have shown how not to adapt a book or a book series for the screen.
From a live average of 0.40 per episode and an average of 889,000 fans per episode in year one to a live average of 0.09 per episode and an average of 246,000 fans per episode in season 2? How could it not be cancelled? Good luck to the fans on getting it renewed. Wynonna Earp hasn’t sunk(or stunk) that low yet. Wow.
That was to be expected, that network knows it has very few subscribers yet expect high ratings. So they cancel it, even though that’s what they’re supposed to be getting. Even with the actual profits vs losses in consideration, due to low ratings, maybe they shouldn’t even have tried to air any shows, if they know they’re gonna suck at pulling in viewers to their overall channel, or find some more effective way to cover costs.
