Is there life left deep within the Ellcrys Tree? The upcoming Paramount Network has cancelled The Shannara Chronicles after two seasons. Reportedly the producer, Sonar Entertainment, is shopping season three of The Shannara Chronicles to other outlets. Shannara and its fans are used to moving. Despite the fact that its first season was the number one scripted series on MTV, parent company Viacom moved it to Spike TV for season two, ahead of that cable channel’s rebranding as Paramount Network, which happens this Thursday.
The Shannara Chronicles stars Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Aaron Jakubenko, Marcus Vanco, Vanessa Morgan, Malese Jow, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie, and Desmond Chiam. When season two kicked off on Spike, chaos had overtaken the Four Lands, as a body called The Crimson began to hunt down magic users. For now, the season two finale, episode 2.10, “Blood” will serve as The Shannara Chronicles TV series finale.

What do you think? Are you a fan of The Shannara Chronicles TV series? Will another network pick up the third season? Where would you like to see The Shannara Chronicles land?
It would be a very sad thing if this series didn’t get picked up some where. They have done a great job so far and I would love to see it continued. I think Netflix, Hulu or Amazon would be a great outlet to continue the story.
This would be a great series if only it had support and advertising. Some book purists complain but I don’t see the problem of not following the book.
This could and would be a great show with some backing. Melissa was right; I also found the second season while surfing.
Hope this great series gets picked up by someone because with support I think it could become a hit like the Star Trek series did.
Great show compared to the unreal reality nonsense that the networks peddle because it’s cheap to produce. SyFy, Netflix we need you to pick up the third season and market it properly, unlike Paramount.
I was disappointed to here of the cancelation …… Why is it that good adventure shows do not hold the interest of the advertisers but captivate the audience? This show held our entire family, three generations. If only the Producers had the Stones!
This is a enteraining show with a great storyline. Someone should pick up the franchise as it has a lot of potential.
I hope Netflix picks it up I like this show I could watch a few more seasons please pick it up I wish there where someone I could write too
Legend of the Seeker. TV adaptation of Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth. Was cancelled after two seasons. People campaigned with the “Save our Seeker” slogan.
I loved seasons 1&2 of the Shannara chronicles and I really hope there will be more. I hope some other network picks it up because it would be a shame if the show ended on a cliff hanger
i will be sorry to see it go if it is not picked up to me it ranks right up there with roots and all the other anthology series’. Let me all so say that perhaps the season 2 drop in ratings may be due to poor promo i for one had no idea there was a season 2 until i saw it on netflix’s
i will be sorry to see it go if it is not picked up it is one of the most captivating and addictive shows i have ever watched to me it ranks right up there with roots and other anthology series’s
it is one of the most captivating shows I have ever watched it ranks in my opinion with roots as far as watchability
I’m with a lot of those who already commented that the show should just be moved to Netflix or one of those networks making it audible to all.
I hope the producers find a patron SOMEWHERE! To me this show/story line is much more appealing than others (e.g. Game of Thrones). It’s all in the marketing and venue. I would like to even see Netflix pick it up as one of their “exclusives”. Come on, Netflix, reach out and give the loyal fan base a hand! Not to mention the producers and cast. They have a great story to tell!
Why was the show canceled it was amazing we all loved please bring it back there in season Sharon Sheaffer
Just heard about and found this series on Netflix and loving it! Go online to see when season 3 begins so I can add to my lineup of shows and what do you know, another dang cancelled show. Just wasted time binging and getting hooked on a show that will be left hanging out there. I hope someone picks it up. Going to get the books for sure. I need more!!
