It’s hard to believe that Shark Tank was in danger of being cancelled in the show’s early seasons. Today, it’s one of ABC’s top unscripted shows with a whopping 29 episode order for season six. It’s no surprise that the network has now renewed the series for a seventh season.
On Shark Tank, entrepreneurs seek investments from a group of saavy (and sometimes cuthroat) millionaires. The regular “sharks” are Robert Herjavec, Kevin O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, Mark Cuban, and Lori Greiner.
Compared to last season, the sixth season of Shark Tank is performing about the same — averaging a 1.85 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.5 million viewers. The season finale is slated for next Friday, May 15th.
Last week, ABC launched a follow-up series called Beyond the Tank. It registered positive ratings and has already been renewed for a second season.
What do you think? Do you like the Shark Tank TV show? Do you plan on watching the seventh season? How long do you think this series should continue with the current sharks?
For any serious watcher it’s not about the cast, it’s about the business observations they make and as long as those don’t get too “fluffy” or nasty I will always watch.
Super love the show Kevin is the best
LOL Why not have a show w/middle class people telling all the rich investors what’s wrong w/their products instead and level the playing field? Nothing like a show crushing someone’s dreams of becoming well off.
We watch Shark Tank, and Beyond the Tank, glad it’s renewed.
