CROWN MEDIA FAMILY NETWORKS ANNOUNCES ‘SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED’ FROM MARTHA WILLIAMSON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF ‘TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL,’ MOVES TO HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES WITH NEW EXTENDED FORMAT
Franchise to Include Multiple 2-Hour Original Movies; First Film, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas,” Premieres November 23
Crown Media Family Networks announced today that Hallmark Channel original weekly scripted series, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” executive produced and written by Martha Williamson (Executive Producer of “Touched by an Angel”), will move to sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as a movie franchise consisting of a series of two-hour original films. Debuting on November 23 at 9pm ET/PT, 8C, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas” will be the first movie in the franchise, with three more slated for 2015.
“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Martha Williamson and to bring her brand of rich and poignant stories to viewers on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries,” said Michelle Vicary, executive vice president, programming and network publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “At their core, the narratives on ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ revolve around mystery and suspense, with compelling characters and dramatic storylines that will be enhanced by an extended format.”
“When Bill Abbott and Michelle Vicary asked if I can evolve the ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ franchise into a series of movies, I was honored to continue the Hallmark tradition of quality family movies,” said series Creator and Executive Producer Martha Williamson. “At the heart of ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ is Oliver, a modern day gentleman with old world values played brilliantly by Eric Mabius,” she added. “He and his wonderful team of postal detectives will continue to surprise us and sometimes make us laugh as they work to solve mysteries behind letters, even mysteries of life.”
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will introduce viewers to the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” franchise by airing a marathon of the series on Saturday, October 11 from 11am – 11pm ET/PT, 10C.
Returning as the “POstables,” Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius, “Ugly Betty”), Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth, “Orphan Black”), Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe, “Smallville”) and Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson “Primeval: New World”) will take millions of viewers on new adventures as they uncover the mysteries of lost missives and return them to their intended recipients, profoundly changing lives in the process.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a comedic drama that follows the lives of a group of postal workers who transform themselves into an untraditional team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail. Their missions take them out of the office into an unpredictable world where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow on time.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a Muse Entertainment production in association with MoonWater Productions. Executive Producers are Martha Williamson (“Touched by an Angel”), Joel S. Rice (“Cyberbully”) and Michael Prupas (“The Kennedys”). Harvey Kahn (“The Haunting Hour”) is the producer.

ABOUT MARTHA WILLIAMSON
Martha Williamson made television history when her CBS series “Touched By An Angel” set a new standard for an inspirational family drama when it grew to a weekly audience of 25 million viewers during its initial nine year run. As Executive Producer of the ground-breaking series, she was the visionary who guided the series into previously uncharted territory with her unique brand of storytelling that produced more than strong ratings; it changed lives. She went on to seal her place in history when she became the first woman to solely executive produce two one-hours simultaneously with “Promised Land,” which aired for three years on CBS. She began her career in comedy with the producing teams for Carol Burnett and Joan Rivers and went on to write and produce situation comedies such as “The Facts of Life,” “Family Man” and “Jack’s Place” for all the networks before making the transition to one-hour drama. Her work has been inducted into the Television and Radio Hall of Fame and honored with numerous awards, including the Edward R. Murray Responsibility in Television Award, the Templeton Prize Epiphany Award and nine Emmy(R) nominations.
What do you think? Is this a good move? Would you prefer that it continue as a weekly series or are you okay with a series of movies instead?
It looks like a consensus to me. 472 just random searchers looking when the new episodes were coming on. Think about it… all the people that don’t know it’s cancelled, There is not one ngative comment here. Hallmark, get your act together, view what the people want to see.
I haven’t seen Good Witch yet, but the previews do not interest me at all. I cannot believe Hallmark would take a show with real substance like SS&D off and put on something that looks as lame as Good Witch.
VERY disappointed!!! Great show. I don’t get Hallmark Movie channel and prob will never see it again.
Here is some good news. Signed, Sealed & Delivered will air June 14th in the first of 3 movies. At least 3 is better than 0.
After doing a quick search, I found a website called ipetitions.com that will allow us to create a free petition. Anyone interested in collaborating with me on this? Just email me or reply to this post.
Thanks,
Deborah Andrews
I am very interested in helping with this. How can I get in touch with you (besides replying here)?
Would sign a petition anytime, to get this wonderful show back on a regular basis. Hopefully, Hallmark will get wise to all the people and families they have let down by canceling an inspiring show like this one, and bring back the one show everyone loved. Start the petition, you will have tons of responses.
I would be interested in working with you on this.
I am interested as well. I’m happy to give someone my email addy if they want. We need to get a petition started asap. That’s the only way things will change, IF they change at all.
It always happens, when there is a really good program on, it gets cancelled, or in this case, only on once in awhile. That is the best group of actors out there. Everyone I know wants it back. We don’t even know when the 1st movie is going to be shown. Please bring it back soon.
I, too, are SO disappointed over your decision not to do a weekly series for season 2. Even though I keep up with and enjoy the Hallmark shows, I will say that this one was not well promoted. I did not know about it until I accidently “stumbled” over it in the middle of season 1 and absolutely fell in love with it. I then told many friends and relatives who also thoroughly enjoyed it and who are also stunned that such a beloved and entertaining show could be canceled so quickly. WHO is making these decisions and WHY was… Read more »
Unfortunately no one from Hallmark will ever read these comments. We need to get a petition started immediately.
I love this series I had hoped that it would continue on a weekly bases. It is a series that makes you feel good at the end and in times like we have now , a feel good movie is important. Please bring back the weekly series
I love the movie and would like to watch it weekly on the regular Hallmark channel as I do not have the Hallmark movie channel.
I love this show!!!!! Please bring it back as a weekly program. Kèep the same cast and build on their lives. The weekend marathon is a wonderful way to begin the program each year!!!!!!
Please please please keep it as a series all my 4children love sitting down to watch it every week would not be the same if made into movies ,it is actually nice to have something on TV that the whole family can watch ,no swearing ,no nudity, we all need something to dream about and who kno
ws we could be one off those people with a letter out their ,the story’s are so heart warming x x
Love the series, would prefer the weekly!
I am in agreement and have posted my comments previously. HOWEVER, I don’t think the people at Hallmark who canceled the series read these comments. WE NEED TO GET A PETITION GOING. PLEASE SOMEONE REPLY TO THIS COMMENT and lets get a petition going to bring the series back. Please.
I think you’re right, and I’ve actually mentioned it before. I do not know how to get a petition into a computer that people can sign, but I love the idea. I wish I were better at computers.
The home page on this site has petitions people have started dedicated to saving some program that is being canceled. I didn’t see a place where someone could start a petition though. Change.org has a way to start a petition. Can anyone help with this?
I think you’re probably better off starting a petition through Change.org than a site like this. I don’t think it’s affiliated with the network, so doubt that these comments are being read by anyone but the site owner, or blogger. At least Change.org petitions get delivered to whoever is named directly, i.e., Hallmark or their parent company. Then it might stand a chance, but it’s all about the money, sadly.
You are right. Has anyone ever started a petition on Change.org? I’ve signed plenty, but never started one.
I’ll check the it out. maybe it is a petition to keep this particular program that so many of us love. Thanks for the advice!
Donna
Thanks, Donna. That would be awesome. We need to get a petition going now if we are going to have any impact with Hallmark. Boy has my opinion of them changed!!!
That would be great. We need to get a petition going now if we are going to have any impact with Hallmark. My opinion of them has certainly changed, and not for the better.
Yes, I agree signed sealed and delivered is a great family entertainment show. I would like to see you returned as a weekly show with the stars like Carol Burnett. I search and try new shows but usually result in going to Netflix or me TV to watch the good shows of yesteryear.
Please bring back the weekly. Our whole family watched, but would not happen as a movie.
Love this but would prefer to watch it weekly
I love the series ,please bring it back!
