Amazon may be headed to the final frontier. Deadline reports the streaming service is in talks to pick up a new series titled Strange New Things.

The sci-fi event series is based on Michel Faber’s 2014 book, The Book of Strange New Things.

The story follows “Peter Leigh, an English pastor who embarks on the journey of a lifetime into deep space that takes him light years away from his beloved wife, Bea.” Kevin MacDonald will direct the series, with Matt Charman writing and Brian Eno producing the show’s music.
