Could season two of Strange Things get even stranger? IGN recently spoke to creators Ross and Matt Duffer about the future of the Netflix series.
The supernatural drama follows the search for a young boy who mysteriously goes missing. The cast includes Winona Ryder, Matthew Modine, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin.
When asked what a second season would look like, Matt said it would be more of a sequel than a direct continuation of season one:
We wanted to do a couple things with this season. We didn’t want to do The Killing thing. We wanted it to resolve that main thing of Will going missing in the first season. So in that sense, it is like an eight-hour movie. Now, we don’t answer all the questions by the end of the season – there are definitely some dangling threads. The hope is that it feels satisfying but that we left room and that if people respond to it we can go back into this world. But if we do get to go back, it’s not a second season as much as a sequel.”
While Netflix hasn’t officially renewed Stranger Things for a second season, star Matthew Modine says season two’s already been ordered.
Stranger Things premiered today, July 15th, on Netflix.

It can’t be a continuation. I rather see a totally different story with a different cast. I was glad that the story itself concluded and not dangling cliff hanger over the viewers.
I just finished watching season one. I have to say it is a really good Netflix series. I watched all of season one in a 24 hour period. I just could not get enough and had to keep watching. I would recommend this netflix original series to kids and adults. Great job can’t wait for season. Two to come out….

One of the best Netflix originals to date, IMO. I really hope they continue the story but am wondering if it will be more like an American Horror Story style show. New season, new world, but the same actors playing new characters? Funny that they mentioned it being like an 8 hour long movie, that’s what I said to my friend when watching it. Soooo goood!
I watched the whole season in one night I couldn’t stop watching it. It’s one of the best TV shows I’ve ever watched. The way they twisted everything together is perfect I really hope they make a season 2 of this. For everyone out there saying bring back 11 watch the last episode again and pay attention to what the officer puts into the box.
wow talk about memory invoking. I was taken back to the days of stand by me, the explorers, mac and me, E.T and a slew of other movies. I started watching and could not put it down, They got everything right, I hope that elle will be back for the 2nd season,.
I have just finished this! Enjoyed this show so much! Was great to watch a show that brought me down memory lane. Bring back the 80’same! Lol! I really hope we get a season 2!
Wow love this series!! Its like the Goonies but scary….. It took me back 30 years lol, everything about it reminds me of being a kid. The acting is awesome, especially from the younger ones. Please don’t kill 11 she deserves a future in the next series. God i hope there is a another series!!
I absolutely loved Stranger things and would love a second season to be made. I was glued to it and couldn’t stop watching it until the very end. Please bring out another season as soon as possible.
