The CW has been having some great success with DC Comics superhero shows. Now, CBS has gotten into the game with their own entry — Supergirl. While Arrow and The Flash fit well with rest of The CW’s programming, Supergirl seems out of place on CBS, a network known for older-skewing procedurals. Will the new series soar in the ratings or will it crash? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Supergirl revolves around Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). As a girl, she survived Krypton’s destruction by being sent to Earth where she was raised as a human. She kept her powers a secret and now, as an adult, works as an assistant at a big city media conglomerate. Kara’s existence becomes known to the world and she is enlisted by a super-secret agency to help protect the citizens from evil forces as Supergirl. The rest of the cast includes Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, and Jeremy Jordan.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/12 update: Supergirl has been renewed for a second season but is moving to The CW.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Supergirl TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Great show! Please renew it and promote it.
They ruined this series for me when they made the original supergirl from Smallville series act as a villain (that blue alien girl).
So what? Dean Cain was only in 2 episodes and the original Supergirl is playing Kara’s foster mother.is am waiting for Tom Welling to show up. Dean Cain we will see more of next season so it am looking forward to that, too.
Ratings ticked up slightly this week from a 1.30 to a 1.33 in the final tally.
I wonder if it would have been better if CBS hadn’t skipped a week, perhaps losing some of the cross-over momentum.
terrible show. race mixing nonsense.
Definitely keep it for another season and more!!!!
I Love Supergirl and hope it gets a second season. Move to CW if not working on CBS.
Is should have a season 2 super girl isamazing an FYI is this the views all around the world or just in cbs what about all the other websites anoll
Great show! move to the cw if it isn’t working on this one. Please renew!!!
Love this show! Move to the cw if not happy on this network but give it another season please!
I Love Supergirl… and when The Flash visits. I just make myself love it because it’s Easy! You can’t cancel Supergirl after 1 season! They will get you if you do!
The April 11th episode of Supergirl was by far the best one yet. Great writing, good emotion, good acting and all done without a lot of special effects. This show is designed to contrast the difference between good and evil and it does a great job. It’s a great message for kids young and old
I grew up with comic book heroes, starting with Superman and Batman, issue #1, ca, 1937. I love seeing them brought to life on the TV screen so please renew Supergirl
I hope they renew!! Our family looks forward to watching it together every Monday! Supergirl and Flash are the only shows we watch on a regular basis…not many shows these days can capture an entire family’s attention.
supergirl is a great tv sho0w with a great plot and story line, to cut it now as it gets better and better is a bad mistake that would only hurt the network down the line. If you want to cut a show, cut one of those awful reality shows or sitcoms.
I love supergirl. Finally we have a female superhero that we can look up to. The characters and actors playing them are believable. The writing and episodes have all been great to watch. Please don’t cancel this show.
