The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Bonnie Hunt Show!! I am so disappointed. I would watch Bonnie over Ellen any day (and I like Ellen). I wish they would reconsider!! I DVR Bonnie every day. I wonder if they take into account DVR when calculating ratings.
Bonnie Hunt Show is the best talk show on tv. I cannot believe they cancelled it. It is one show on tv that the whole family can watch.
PLEASE KEEP THIS SHOW ON THE AIR!
I cannot believe that this show is being cancelled. It was fun, entertaining and Just Ask Alice was always a crack up or she had everyone in tears. We have so much garbage on tv and you are letting one of the greatest down to earth talk shows ever go to the wayside. It is a pity. 🙁
I am so disappointed. Finally an enjoyable feel good type of talk show. Bonnie seems to bring the best out of people young and old. I even enjoy Alice. Her show is like a breath of fresh air. Heaven forbid they bring some of those realty show so called “celebrities” to replace her. There is very little on TV that you can honestly say is entertaining. Where can we write to complain of the cancellation.
I would love to know if there is a petition we can sign anywhere to try and keep Bonnie on. My daughter and I both love her show!
Is there a petition we can sign or an email we can send our opinion/objection as to why they are cancelling the Bonnie Hunt Show…she’s the ray of sunshine and hope in many lives.
What can be done to keep Bonnie Hunt’s show on the air? It is decent, fun and just so heart warming. She is a special person with so much to share; please tell me what we can do? How about night time or a different daytime slot? Please consider not cancelling one of the best shows on TV.
My whole family love Bonnie’s show. It is always upbeat, leaves us feeling better than when we tuned in. I have been taping it and watching it in the morning instead of the news. It is a wonderful way to start the day.
We will all be sad when it leaves the air. We are all hoping for a change of heart by Warner and NBC.
Bonnie is so funny and just makes my day! She is such a good person with so much talent.
I am not in show business but have heard everything comes down to ratings and money.
I am retired and watch a lot tv. Have not been asked what I watch.
So my question is the same as Martha’s . How does NBC know how anyone feels?
I love watching Bonnie and will miss her very much.
Why!! Bonnie Hunt is just has good a talk show as Ellen or O. Except she did not not have the big prizes (given to people that probably have the money to the buy items). But are looking for something free. Ellen has the same guests time and time again (promoting themselves). O has people that are pretty scary and that promotes violence.
I’m just plain sad. Everyone in my house loves The Bonnie Hunt Show, me chief among them. How can we let NBC know how we feel? I look forward to Bonnie’s clean, cute humor every day. The cancellation is a travesty and really matters to me. Best wishes, Bonnie and staff!
What can the fans of the Bonnie Hunt Show do to keep the family funny show on the air.
NBC needs to “market ” the show, let people know that it is on TV!!!! I have the show taped She is the only talk show I taped. The only shows I tape are Mad Men, The Good Wife and The Bonnie Hunt Show. Bonnie how can I help you stay on the air? Bonnie your crew are great and you let them shine in there own right.
Best Wishes and High Regards,
Lynne
I am stunned that the Bonnie Hunt Show is cancelled. She is genuinely funny, warm and welcoming. Bonnie and her crew were always entertaining and witty and I cared about them. I’ll miss this gem of a talk show. Guess she wasn’t controversial enough. Sorry, Bonnie.
Can some one PLEASE answer this for me ……..so many peopel love Bonnie none of us want to see her go,we are all begging the network to keep her,so why are they letting her go? We are they keeping crap on like The View,Tyra,Maury just to mane a few and dumping a great show like Bonnie Hunt. We are all in protest yet they are doing it,…….WHY ???????
