The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

I am saddened that the Bonnie Hunt show is being cancelled. It is the only feel good show on TV that is a delight to watch every day. Its a shame that all those crappy reality shows stay on but we have to suffer the loss of this great show. I am NOT happy.
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL BONNIE HUNT!!! I am 26 and absolutely love her. My mom and I TiVo her show so we can watch it together. I love her grasp on classic values and morals and if more people would watch her show, the world would be a better place. You can only see so much filth on television and Bonnie Hunt is the bright spot I look forward to every day. I love her mom Alice and I love Bonnie and her causes and passion for making the world a better place. I’ve always enjoyed her acting, but I… Read more »

I was in pain when I heard that the Bonnie Hunt show was being cancelled. I lost my job last year and started watching her show. Before that I had not heard of her show, but now I never miss it. It’s like sitting down with a friend every afternoon, she makes me laugh out loud. I think you should show previews of her show in prime time to gather a larger audience, she’s absolutely wonderful! I will miss you Bonnie.
I agree with others. There is so much garbage on TV with reality shows. I am so sick of them. Bonnie brings a great break to the mondain bad news and redundant shows. You are making a mistake in cancelling the show. We need more “Feel Good” shows and less synical programming.
Keep her alive!
I absolutely LOVE the Bonnie Hunt Show.
Please don’t cancel such a warm, funny show.
I love you Bonnie!
I LOVE the Bonnie Hunt Show, please don’t cancel it!!! Bonnie is a treasure, she has so much heart and is just an all around good person who is nice to everyone, loves animals and family! She has the best talk show on TV and will be missed. Please NBC/FOX get your head out of your ass and realize you are doing the wrong thing, you can never replace perfection!
I am extremely shocked, and saddened, to hear that The Bonnie Hunt Show will be cancelled. Say it ain’t so!!! I have truly enjoyed Bonnie, her talented staff, and her guests who appear on the show. You can’t get any more wholesome than Bonnie. Her show is not loaded with garbage. We NEED more shows like this, not have them taken away. I happen to not be working right now, so it has worked well for me, most mornings, to watch this show. If I was still working, I probably wouldn’t even know about it. My point is, could you… Read more »
The cancellation of this show says it all. The world is loosing it’s appetite for positive, moral, and funny entertainment. There is so much trash on TV these days and this show was one bright spot in the day. Thank you, Bonnie, for so many joyful moments. God bless you and your staff.
Carl Reiner was on yesterday and you could see in his eyes how disappointed he was to hear that Bonnie’s show is cancelled. He had only wonderful, encouraging words to say to her and isn’t a veteran like Carl Reiner’s opinion worth something? This man knows talent, as do all of Bonnie’s faithful viewers, so please leave this show on the air and let Bonnie continue to shine and bring happiness to us.
UNFORTUNATELY, IT’S NOT ABOUT HOW GOOD A SHOW IS, IT’S ABOUT MONEY. IF A SHOW DOES NOT GET GOOD RATINGS IT GETS CANCELLED, & UNFORTUNATELY, WHOLSOME SHOWS DO NOT APPEAL TO MOST OF THE VIEWERS IN THIS DAY & AGE.
IT WOULD BE NICE IF ONE OF THE CABLE CHANNELS WOULD PICK IT UP, LIKE LIFETIME MAYBE? I CAN ONLY HOPE!
I can’t believe her show has been cancelled. One of the few shows in the AM that
still makes people laugh. What are they going to replace her show with, more
SOAPS, NEWS, come on executives were sick of all the bad news!!!!! Give us
some laughter once in a while………………Really Angry!!!
What a shame. One of the very few clean shows on tv. One of the reasons that she is being cancelled probably is because most of the men she has on the show don’t know how to shave!!! (joke) I wonder what will replace – that is, put in her time slot-she cannot be replaced. I am afraid to think. come on, Warner, give us something WE want for a change
