Airing on Wednesday nights after America’s Got Talent, Mr. Robinson did pretty well for NBC as a new summer comedy. Will The Carmichael Show find similar ratings success? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Loosely based on the life of series star and co-creator Jerrod Carmichael, The Carmichael Show revolves around his relationships with his contrarian father, therapist-in training girlfriend, ever-hustling brother, and loud and proud Christian mother. The cast includes Carmichael, Amber Stevens West, David Alan Grier, Lil Rel Howery, and Loretta Devine.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
9/14 update: NBC has renewed the series for a second season. Details here.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the The Carmichael Show TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?

The mom is my favorite character great chemistry between her nd the dad! Always cracking me up! 🙂
Loved Meet The Carmichael’s! Funny! Enjoyed all episodes. PLEASE keep/renew and give it a fair chance. David Alan Grier, genuine/naturally funny all the time, Loretta Devine, such a diverse actress, is really a great fit with Grier. Thumbs up for other actors/actresses as well, especially Jerrod, so writers its all up to you. This show has all the potential of being a hit! We need more true comedy, plenty of drama on TV now and enough with (actually don’t even watch) all the fake reality shows…Big game show fan, need more on at night, PLEASE keep Hollywood Game Night, and… Read more »

Renewable
I enjoyed the program. Ii
My wife and I really enjoyed the carmichael show…it’s about time a good show arrives on TV…there is to many garbage shows on…we need more family aimed sitcoms that make you laugh…
I wrote a comment on 8/27/15… ALL I CAN SAY IS NBC… PLEASE RENEW THE CARMICHAEL SHOW. IT IS AN AWESOME COMEDY WITH A EXCELLENT CAST, GREAT WRITING AND DIRECTING WITH A MESSAGE IN EACH EPISODE. PRAYING THAT NBC KEEPS ME WATCHING THEIR CHANNEL BY KEEPING THE CARMICHAEL SHOW AS A REGULAR PROGRAM.
I like the Carmichael show
renew! renew! renew!
Checked out two episodes of the show. Jokes too predictable, timing is bad, Jerrod is a complete over-actor, all the actors are ill-fitted. I don’t get the far too awkward girlfriend and the boyfriend is suppose to be cool but he mostly comes off like a clown. I am not feeling this show. The only one I kinda like (a little) is the brother, Bobby. His acting feels natural, he actually reminds me of Cedric the Entertainer. Anyway, I don’t like this show, but I wish I did. ‘Was really looking for a good funny show to enjoy.
I loved the show and have already put it on my DVR schedule. I have not seen this level of comedy writing since Sanford and son. I hope the executives are wise enough to give it a decent chance to build a audience and not revert to the same knee jerk reactions when it comes to good ethnic writing . I will be watching the show and also the station big wigs to determine if I should continue to watch TV at all or just do what a lot of the younger ( I am over 50) are doing and… Read more »
I thoroughly enjoyed the show last night. I happened to have attended the tapings that aired last nite and found myself laughing and enjoying the show as if it were my first time viewing it. I think the show is GREAT and don’t think its fair that the demographic age should judt be between 18-49. I am 65 and this age group watches tv too. The show’s writers are awesome with funny, fresh, original yet down home funny comedy. I pray NBC will keep this show and give it a chance. They have a GREAT cast. Give it a good… Read more »
So much better than Mr. Robinson. It isn’t a very modern sitcom (this would have been good fit for the 80’s or TBS, TV Land, etc.), but it did have alot of funny moments and a live audience. Loretta Devine is one of my favorite actresses and is the reason I watched in the first place, but why is she always yelling. The writers did not have to make her character so loud. I’ll keep watching though.
dumb show won’t be watching sorry
I actually love David A Grier and Loretta Devine..the show had some funny points..I liked the woman who plays his ex daughter in law..shes Funny too..Hope it gets better script wise because these are brilliant actors and actresses…A scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 6.5..Ill still try to give it another chamce..its at a perfect time slot too..
