A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”

What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
SO SAD! I HAVE STARTED MY MORNINGS WITH “THE DOCS” FOR SOOO LONG!!!
I don’t plan on watching. I’ve learned so much from this show that has improved my life and that of my friends. I have also really enjoyed the interactions between the team. It has been growing and improving its content over time which has kept me interested.
I am very dissapointed they decided to change the show so much. I loved the way it was. I probably will not watch the new show.
I will not be watching. Why did they feel the need to fix something that wasn’t broken??? I loved the dynamics between the current staff. Everywhere we turn, we are hearing nothing but COVID – don’t need to hear any more!
As a long time viewer, I won’t be watching the new format. The banter between the doctors viewers have gotten to know will be missed, especially Dr’s Stork and Ordon. Disappointed in the McGraw for this change. Glad to see this new show has been DROPPED from my local station
I will not be watching. The team is what made the show. Ian is cool..but it’s not the same. If its not broken, don’t fix it. The show won’t last. Ratings will crash.
I have watched “The Doctors” for a very long time because I found it interesting, informative, and very, very funny at times. I guess the McGraws never heard “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” I am not familiar with Dr. Smith, and I am sure he is knowledgeable and well-prepared for the show, but when some of my favorite faces on TV are gone, so will I be saying “adios.”
In addition, this seems to me a bit of imposed political correctness!
I agree!
Sorry, I won’t be watching. Dr. Smith is great and very knowledgeable but without the team format the show looses it’s appeal for me.
I’m really disappointed that the Doctors as we knew it will not be returning. I will give the new one a chance if it doesn’t interfere with my other shows.
I will not watch it anymore. The rapport the doctors had was what made the show. Why is a change necessary when it was so enjoyable? Somebody messed up!
No I will not be watching the new format of this season. I really enjoyed the hosts and program the way it was before !! Ever heard the old saying “if it ain’t broken don’t fix it !!!!”
Sadly, I won’t be watching the Doctors when it returns in September.
Will not be watching. Always enjoyed The Doctor’s show and with the change I can’t see it being better. The statement “ this is an unprecedented time” tells me why changes were made. Look how many were let go versus the one. Travis, Andrew, Judy, etc didn’t have a chance to keep their jobs.
I agree! I for one am sick of all these shows revolving around this pandemic. The country is well aware of what’s going on and what guidelines to follow. We don’t need to be told 10 times a day!
I think I won’t be watching it
Very unfortunate turn of events! No offense to the new host. Just think the McGraws should find another avenue for him to pursue. The Doctors has been a staple in my household since the beginning. Always an excellent source of good information. I too have tons of episodes on my DVR and refuse to delete them. This is horrible news!! With all of the other changes going on in our world, it’s sad that we can’t count on anything anymore.
