A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”
“Trustworthy and straightforward medical news has never been more important. THE DOCTORS recognizes the opportunity to support our viewers and deliver the content they’re looking for and deserve to get,” said Jay McGraw, executive producer, THE DOCTORS. “Dr. Ian and our award-winning team coming together for season 13 are focused on being an empowering resource of news, solutions and inspiration to stay healthy and become stronger than ever.”
THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
Boring!! I won’t be watching it.
I have watch, it although I like Dr Ian, I find the show hard to watch. The topics are good but not present in a interesting and stimulatig format. A cohost may help.
I can’t believe they canceled it on ABC & then brought it back under a different network with the same exact name but no Travis or Drew or anyone else that have made the show successful for the past 13 years. This new show shouldn’t be called The Doctors since it’s nothing like the show The Doctors. I’m not exactly sure what they were thinking taking that show off the air especially during a pandemic where many people would have looked to this show for information & guidance. I loved how they were for the most part unbiased & addressed… Read more »
Wow, what a shame. The Doctors was such a great show, now you have ruined it. Can’t stand the new Host. Show is so generic and impersonal now. Dr. Stork made it all work. Won’t be watching this anymore, rather watch old reruns. Goodby Doctors. Sad ex fan.
Tried watching but it was so boring and predictable. I tried watching two different days and was disappointed both times. I miss the original cast. You guys really screwed up. You lost me ad a viewer and I’m so mad I may boycott Dr. Phil as well.
No I won’t watch it.
We are getting use to the new formate. With anything new it will take time to getting comfortable with, I will miss the previous cast.
why did you guy’s fix something that wasn’t BROKE?!
I can’t believe you got rid of the hosts. It’s not as interesting now!
We had a group of 30 plus regular daily followers of The Doctors…tried to watch new series…turned off half way very boring, dry, no exciting personality. Tried a few days later…not any better…will not be watching…you have ruined “The Doctors”
The new format for the Doctors is SO VERY DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST‼️ There is NO WARMTH LISTENING TO SOMEONE ON A LAPTOP ON A LONG TABLE ALONE. The “PREVIOUS DOCTORS” were Very Informative on so many levels. Their guests and stories made this program REAL‼️ Jay McGraw and Dr. Phillip McGraw and the rest of the producing circle seem to think a New Studio, a New Host and a new format was NECESSARY…… They have NO IDEA THE FORMER “DOCTORS” was what people LOVED AND APPRECIATED. Perhaps it was “MONEY‼️“ Jay McGraw should take a SECOND LOOK at… Read more »
Watched the first new format, very boring, we are a group of 30 plus regular followers..This new show is not even worth out time to watch…
I Hate it
I gave the new format a couple of tries and found it to be really dull. It really has a negative vibe without the other cohorts.
soooooo……. DULL, but i’m getting more done because i’m not sitting down watching TV
A good entertaining and informative show is dumped for a hard-to-watch boring show. Bring back the doctors we all loved, Nothing against this doctor…include him in daily segments…he cannot carry an hour show alone. Meanwhile, I won’t be watching.
