The original television version of The Odd Couple ran for five seasons on ABC and Jack Klugman and Tony Randall were beloved in their roles as Oscar and Felix. How will this new version perform in the ratings for CBS? Will it be a hit or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On this version of The Odd Couple, endearing slob Oscar Madison (Matthew Perry) is a sports-writer and uptight neat freak Felix Unger (Thomas Lennon) is a photographer. They’re two former college buddies who become unlikely roommates after the demise of their marriages. Other castmembers are Lindsay Sloane, Wendell Pierce, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/12 update: CBS has renewed The Odd Couple for a second season.
Final season averages: 2.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.77 million total viewers.

Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the new Odd Couple TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?
the show stinks.
The question is “WHY” take a classic and try to re-make it, and give it a second season…its terribly written and not at all funny. In the first episode, “Felix” would have made sure the throw over the sofa was perfectly folded (which it wasn’t) as well as the pillows properly in place; it was in Felix’s DNA. Too bad, the cast deserves better.
Surprised this was renewed. Laugh track is a mess. This show is NOT funny.
It’s a dud. Seriously. And the laugh track needs to go too.
Love this show so funny I sure hope it comes back!
Great show! Especially the little guy, Thomas Lennon. He is really excellent! I totally agree w/ M.S. (4/23/15) regarding Matthew Perry. He really needs to relax and not try to overdo every line. His monosyllabic delivery needs a lot of help! But, despite that, as well as that annoying laugh track, the show is very good and we hope it lasts. Someone mentioned not being able to watch The Odd Couple due to that extremely irritating laugh track. Unfortunately, they’re everywhere though. So, unless you want to go British, which I highly recommend, there’s no getting away from them. An… Read more »
The mover-inner overacts to the point where with the pilot episode when that guy walked in I was left alone staring at this junk. He’s trying to be like Alan Harper but it’s like school concert. how could he possibly have been married to a woman?
This show is hilarious! The cast is amazing and it’s finding it’s groove.
Matthew Perry seems pretty anemic in this show. Instead of using his impeccable timing and whit, he is reduced to semi-shouting as a form of acting. Felix is rather funny, getting them into all their “scrapes.” I like this show however, because it’s cute and because it’s easy on the eyes and not scary or offending. It’s perfect tv for relaxing. Watch it with a friend or loved one and the laughs double. So, I’m all for a second season…..
Good point about M.P. I couldn’t really put my finger on it, but “anemic” seems right, and describing his “acting” as “semi-shouting” is very accurate. What is up w/that? Thomas L. more than makes up for it and really carries the show. Also, it is cute and not offensive – yet! (Give the writers time and they’ll manage to catch someone in bed with oneself, as is the norm for this day and age for some reason or other. That’s when they lose me and my friends! Thanks anyway, but enough is enough and we can only take so much… Read more »
this show is a total waste is not funny not even close you have to be an idiot to like the show and more of an idiot to waste money on the show.
Its not funny, poorly written, and the only reason to renewal it because it cost little to produce. The only people I know who like it are potted up at that time. This would be a gud question for the viewers of this “show” if they are under the influence during viewing time.
Matthew Perry is not funny in this show. I’ve given it a chance and really……something is missing???
I love the show!!!!
Love the show one of the funniest on tv.
Thanks to everything that is out there the show is renewed. It’s the only show I watch and I can continue to feed my healthy Matthew Perry obsession.
one of the few comedies I watch Matthew Perry’s comical timing is perfect and the guy who plays felix is hilariousI loved the first odd couple series as much as anyone but when that came out they were comparing it to the movie don’t compare one show to another show or one actor to another actor they will bring something to the roles
They should have said NO at the presentation meeting. This show is horrible.
Nothing is new, boring, bad acting.
Should have been pulled 10 minutes into the first episode.
The supporting cast is good, the writers need to improve the dialog, it’s a bit cheesy n overdrawn, lines come across as forced, rather than natural.
Mathew Perry’s monosyllabic line delivery n over exaggerated facial expressions leave a lot to be desired, over the top…. Relax your delivery n facial expressions, make it real .
The facial expressions are Matthew Perrys trade make. Love them, they make me laugh .
