ABC hasn’t had much luck launching a new reality show in quite some time so they tried something different this time — The Quest. Is it a ratings success? Will it be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?
On The Quest, a dozen everyday people are transported to a fantasy world called Everealm where they have adventures and compete to be the last “true hero” remaining. The cast includes Peter Windhofer, Jan Hutter, Marcello de Nardo, Susanne Gschwendtner, Stephanie Buddenbrock, Florence Kasumba, Mai Duong Kieu, and Doug Tait.
The show debuted at the end of July to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.82 million viewers. It was a very poor start — even for a summer series — and the numbers have gotten worse as the weeks have gone by.

The season currently averages a paltry 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.96 million viewers. That’s worse than Sing Your Face Off, a celebrity reality show that was burned off on Saturday nights in June.
To be fair, The Quest has had to compete with football games in some markets and has also been preempted by games on some local ABC stations. The ratings are still very, very low however and the network knew that the series would be interrupted when they scheduled it — a sign that they probably had no faith in it.
In the end, it’s highly unlikely that ABC will want to take a chance on ordering a second season of The Quest.

I recently watched The Quest on Netflix. I loved it. Wish I had known about it when it first aired. It was awesome.

I just saw the Quest on Netflix. It was really exciting. I couldn’t wait for the next episode so i watched all of them. I really could identify with some of the Paladins. How cool it would be to be apart of something like this. What a wonderful experience for them to live it for 1 week to many weeks. I know there are probably thousands of everyday people who would love to participate in such an experience. It always kept me guessing. RENEW!!!!!!!!! I’m so hooked on this show!!!!! It needs to stay! It would be really cool if they did a youth season with high schoolers or something, but that’s just me. Either way this show needs to keep going. There is nothing else like it! I saw it on Netflix when I was bored and wasn’t able to think of anything else until I finished it!!!!!! THIS SHOW NEEDS TO CONTINUE FILMING!!!!!!! RENEW IT!!!!!!!!!

I loved watching it on Netflix!! I don’t remember seeing advertised on ABC or I would have watched!! Yes I think they should have another season, but I think sci fi or another networ should have picked it up. I don’t think ABC was a good venue. It was the first reality show where I liked most of the people. There wasn’t the usual backstabbing. They did a wonderful job of melding teamwork and individual competition while having a running storyline. I would love to see another one!!!!

Absolutely love seeing this on Netflix. Ooh I hope they’ll make more series it phenomenal, nothing else like it. Each episode is so engaging, everyone gets so involved routing for the true hero. I’m hooked.

As many other people have mentioned, I only saw this show on Netflix, and have not seen any advertisement for it anywhere. I feel like if there was more promotion for this series, it would do a lot better. I watched the season too quickly, and I’m now in one of those phases where I feel incomplete, because there isn’t anything else out there like this. If there is, then those don’t seem to be getting any promotion either. I’d love to see more seasons of this! I was engaged the entire time to be honest. Definitely keeping an eye… Read more »

This series was so exciting and fun! Thanks to Netflix, my family and I had a marathon run through it and loved every minute! It was so much fun to watch a reality series where challenges are based on real training: horsemanship, sword fighting, archery, coded messages, puzzles. It is also nice to see people really engaged in a competition for the right reasons and with the integrity most reality shows cannot seem to find. This show is really one that deserves another season!
I really loved the show….. Please bring the Quest back I think this time around with a little more promotion I believe everyone would love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had also never heard of the show until it showed up on Netflix but I absolutely love this show, me and my husband have finished the whole season in 3 days and we would love to see another season of it

please please bring back the quest some of us nerds out here really really like the show it might not be for mass media of shows like Scandal, Grey’s, etc,but there are those of us who really dig this show and are watching it on demand at the present time, because we watched at regular airing date, and because we are Jonesing for some more, please please renew the series thank you very much

Just like others, I had never heard of this show until it popped up on my “May Like This Show” line on Netflix. My 15 year old son and I watched the whole season in two days! Nice we could actually watch something together without him being wigged out by inappropriate dress or behavior. I agree that if ABC gives this show another try after being on Netflix there would be an amazing following. Huzza!
