TV show description:
A TV show adaptation of the Philipp Meyer novel of the same name, The Son is a Texas period drama that follows three generations of the McCullough family. The series features the metamorphosis of Eli McCullough (Brosnan).
The family patriarch, Eli, changes over the years from an affable innocent into a conniving killer. After losing everything on the wild frontier, Eli resolves to build a lasting ranching and oil dynasty and, in time, grows exceedingly wealthy.
Eli’s eldest son Pete (Garrett) has always labored in dear old dad’s shadow. He longs to be his own man and yet still make his father proud.
Pete’s headstrong daughter Jeannie (Lucas) worships her grandfather. Regardless of the times, and the fact that she’s living in a man’s world, Jeannie has no intention of living only for marriage and motherhood.
Eli is a brutal man, particularly in dealing with his rival, Spanish neighbor Pedro Garcia (Bardem). In pursuit of power, Eli sparks events reaping ramifications which ripple throughout the generations.
In flashbacks, the drama also tells the story of young Eli (Lofland) and Comanche war chief Toshaway (McClarnon), who served as his father figure. Throughout, The Son delves into the rise of the McCullough family empire.

“The Son” was a great series. Hulu should extend this show. I couldn’t stop watching it. Brilliant actors and a wonderful story. couldn’t wait for the next episode. I would love to see the 3rd series and more. Thank Hulu for putting for this series on T.V,
‘The Son’ is the BEST series I have ever seen. It makes you pay attention and leave you anxious for next show. Hulu is missing a chance to have good show rather than junk!!!
I think thete is plenty to explore and see what happens to those left behind. Number 3 would be great.
I loved the series. Fantastic acting. I loved all the charters and the people who played them. Very believable. I’ve watched it twice about 10 months apart and was drawn in by the story both times. It was good TV and great story telling. I’d love for them to continue the series. I’m saddened that is was canceled!!

Can someone tell me who Pete and Phineas mother was? I dont remember that ever being brought out.

Should have continued it. Only problem I had with it was, didn’t seem like the the age of Eli would be correct via the dates of the show. Wouldn’t he be well in his 80s in 1916?
Watched a few episodes. Hated it. White man BAD, Indian good, Mexican good.
I loved the show. I sad to see it. Go. I was looking forward to another season. They always cancel the good ones.
I just finished the last episode, my only complain is the casting of the grandson Ulises, they dont explain why the actor playing the character is mulatto, half black, was his father black Mexican? Or his mother? Not to mention his Spanish is poor.
American casting is poor compared to the UK.
Not all are the same because of a surname.
If his grandfather father was American Anglo, he would not look mulatto.
With Yellowstone the best series in a long time, Brosnan is excellent,as he gets older he gets better.

Usually I dont like westerns, but this 2 are the tops.
