TV show description:
A British-French crime drama, The Tunnel TV series follows UK Detective Karl Roebuck (Dillane) and French Detective Elise Wassermann (Poésy). In the first season, when a French politician is found dead in the middle of the Channel Tunnel (i.e. Chunnel), these two officers are dispatched to investigate on behalf of their countries.
Thanks to a discovery made at the scene of the crime, the French and British police must partner with each other on the grizzly case. As the story progresses, the serial killer employs more intricate and innovative means to draw Karl and Elise further into his progressively intimate plan.
In the second season, entitled The Tunnel: Sabotage, a French couple is abducted from the Channel Tunnel, leaving their young daughter behind. Elise and Karl are assigned to the investigation. When a plane crashes in the Channel, and everyone aboard it dies, their case grows even more complicated.
The Tunnel — which was inspired by the Swedish series, The Bridge — also airs on Sky Atlantic in UK and Canal+ in France. Those networks have reportedly ordered a third and final season, entitled The Tunnel: Vengeance, which will involve the refugee crisis.
Series Finale:
Episode #24
In the final episode, Karl and Elise face a tense and gripping showdown with the Pied Piper, while the truth about the Moreau abduction is revealed at last.
First aired: August 5, 2018.
What do you think? Do you like The Tunnel TV show? Should it have been renewed for a fourth season on PBS?
I love The Tunnel and cannot believe it is being cancelled, The show is intelligent, the characters are intriguing and pretty well developed and the plots are convoluted and absolutely absorbing. I hope the producers will reconsider and bring it back; I will miss it very much if it’s truly gone!
My words too.
Love this show! If BBC is done with it maybe Netflix can take over like they have on other shows….
Please do not cancel this excellent program. US TV is rife with insipid reality shows and trite comedies. hu
I love The Tunnel. It is an excellent show which is lacking in US television with insipid reality shows taking over. Please do not cancel.
I love this excellent show and am extremely disappointed that this is the final season. Not nearly enough excellence on television with more and more insipid reality shows talk g over.
The Tunnel is by far one of the best series I’ve seen in a long time. The actors are believable and real in their roles. The story lines,With all the different ,pieces of the crime puzzle , fitting perfectly to solve and complete the crime story perfectly. Please keep renewing this show, there are not too many really good political /suspense /crime /murder ,mysteries on Television anymore.

The Tunnel is an amazing series! Cooperation between the French and the British sets the show apart from other PBS programs. The acting is wonderful and the characters friendships continue to develop as the plot is developed. Give us more!
