NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

Very disappointed to see that the Village has been cancelled. It was an excellent and very entertaining show with so many potential storylines to be developed. The acting was superb. We need more shows with relevant stories
I’m SO sick & tired of decent, heartwarming shows being cancelled and all kinds of violent, trash being renewed season after season!!! What has happened to the humanity in T.V.!!!!
Begging is not something that I do, especially begging networks. But PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back The Village. The depth and complexity of the characters are fascinating. I watched every episode. Please don’t leave us wondering what was happening to Katie in the preview (she was on a gurney in the hospital). Is selling this program to another network a possibility? So many people need this show.
I am so very sad to hear of this terribly wrong move. This was the most heart warming shiw. I loved this show because it was written as to how I would like to see a close community as this show comes together to help one another. If we had more examples of this maybe we might encourage humanity to act in kindness verses dislike to our differences . I am truly sad:(
The Village is an exceptional show with a stellar cast. Poignant story lines & characters that we invested our caring for. Great job done by writing, cast, crew! So sorry to hear this. If NBC cannot maintain this show, I hope that another cable network will!! Very beloved show by fans!
Are you kidding me I just watched season finale. You take off a great feel good show and add another music show. Don’t we have enough of those?

I am so upset this is being canceled. This show was so well written and had me hanging at the end of every episode. I fell in love with the characters and how they played out life so well. It’s refreshing to watch shows with good content. Please bring it back!!
This saddens me. This is a show that reaches many of today’s topics. It is real tv. It is not having a million dollar mansion….or facework…or clothes. It is about people. Everyday life. I love the character all in the same apartment building. Everyone getting along or not. Growing up together. Helping each other. It is real situations that real people confront. The Village was wonderful! This is very disappointing!!!
I can’t believe The Village got cancelled! This was one of my favorite new shows. It was well written, great cast and such amazing stories. Hopefully another network will pick it up. It’s to good to not be on television
