NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

I am so very disappointed that this series will not be coming back I watched it faithfully and I love this series I was looking forward to Season two I think you should give it another chance you’d be surprised
Who makes these decisions anyway just when I’m starting to like something it disappears just like that nobody ever asked me what I think before they take it away
I am very disappointed that there won’t be a Season 2 of the Village. I purchased the whole 1st Season, b/c I wasn’t able to catch it on NBC, and I binge watched it on Amazon, and LOVED IT!! I could not wait to find out when Season 2 was. Only to find out there ISN’T one. That’s VERY upsetting.
I was patiently waiting for the fall season just to be able to watch the Second Season of The Village. What a disappointment that it wasn’t renewed. The characters, storyline, and overall diversity were intriguing. I am devastated.
So very disappointed this show wasn’t renewed. Finally a really good show and it gets canceled! Don’t understand the ratings game. Everyone I knew watched and was hoping for Season 2. NBC should pay more attention to their actual viewers and read the comments on this site and others. Disappointed.
This breaks my heart I loved this show and I have been so excited and patiently waiting for season 2 to come out. I enjoyed the story and it’s warm fuzziness. The characters were so relatable and I loved how they all came together….bummed out now
What a shame. Great story lines, some virtue and life lessons that teach or remind us of the goodness that exists in our world. It’s always about the money, isn’t it (viewership & advertising)? At some point, you have to let some things grow. So much of what is on television depends on how many “kids” are watching. News flash, not a lot of kids watch network television. And the kids that watch television in this demographic don’t have as much discretionary, disposable income. Those of us that do, watched this series.

It seems the good shows with a different outlook and real stuff happening always get cancelled. This was very upsetting!
I definitely would watch season 2! What a refreshing change from everything else. It was not the same ole thing. They should bring it back!!
I love the village I told girl friend about it they love it, we were looking forward to season 2. I’m disappointed it not coming back.
I loved this show. Every episode I watched with my girlfriend we were in tears. Very well written. I am sad that it didn’t come back.
I really loved The Village! I thought it was a really good show. I think it was a mistake to cancel it. I bet it would have caught on. Maybe it just needed a little more advertisement. I’m sad that I will not get to see what happens with this cast of characters.
