Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?
Loved the series. So sorry you cancelled it
I enjoyed watching the show very much, would liked to have seen more. The show, in addition to being a crime drama, displayed great family values in less than perfect circumstances. Loved the storyline.
I just found Pure Flix and Ties that Bind was the best show I’ve seen in a long time. I agree with all other post, they shouldn’t have cancelled this series and I so wish they would bring it back.
Finally, a crime drama that had us on the edge of our seat that wasn’t gory or hokey and it was canceled! Please give us another crime drama, like, “Ties That Bind,” for way more than one season!!!
I agree, this show was really great and as I finished the season I really wish there was another season. Even if the UP station made a tv movie with the cast that would be awesome. I mean Luke Perry is now deceased so they would have to kill him off but that isnt hard. It was a really great show for families to watch together. The station should atleast give us 2 seasons of shows before cancelling.
I have been watching this series on Pureflix. As I was nearing the end of the episodes of season 1 I checked the internet to see if there would be a season 2. I am very disappointed to find out that they did not continue the show for season 2. I have one more episode in season 1 to watch and will be left hanging as to what could have happened in season 2. Wished they could reconsider and come out with a season 2 even if it is several years later.
I’m VERY disappointed that this show was cancelled and would love to know what thoughts went into this “thoughtful consideration” that resulted in cancellation. I can’t think of one good reason for discontinuing this very entertaining and wholesome series. Sure wasn’t very thoughtful of your viewers.
I’m so disappointed. The series was my favorite show to watch.
Same here
Why would you cancel it? We loved the show. Leaving it hanging like that is not ok. I think you should have considered that before you cancelled it! Very very disappointed!
My wife and I like this show. There should be a season 2
Im so disappointed theres no season 2! My kids and I really enjoyed watching this show! We really hope there will be a season 2!!!
Just found this series. So love it. Very sad that it was cancelled. Hope that you bring it back!!
I’m pissed. This was an amazing show that I was passionately devoted to. After rewatching the series for the 3rd time I realize how terribly disappointing it was to end it just like that. I cried. Still, I cry when I think of it. Why did you have to let your viewers down? You can still always do a Season 2 and make it a few years later to where they still couldn’t find Cameron. Like whatever you planned to do for Season 2 do it! Just add some years, not just cuz it’s been a few years, but for… Read more »
I’m so mad just got done with season 1 and I just realized there’s no season 2 they leave you hanging that sucks.
Very good family show. It’d be awesome to get to see more. Script was good, parenting was good, good marriage relationship: all very real in the ups and downs.
The series was so good. Great cast, I just don’t get why it was cancelled.
We finally found a good series to watch! We had been enjoying every episode and always looked forward to the next one and then to find out that it was cancelled. We felt like we were rear-ended. What a disappointment!
