Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?
Season two pleasedeeeeeeeeee
I can’t believe they cancelled this show. It was a good clean show with values. Please consider bringing it back with the same actors. I was so looking forward to Season 2!
This show should never have been canceled. Discovered it while streaming and loved the storyline, the cast, everything. This should have been running as long as most great detective shows.
Finally a clean show that presented values yet was well written and held everyone’s interest. This show should have been continued. I hope someone else will pick up the story line.
This was a GREAT series! So disappointed that it was cancelled. I just found the show and binge watched all 10 in 2 days! I couldn’t wait to move on to Season 2. Not sure why this show wasn’t promoted more. Please reconsider!!!
We need this series to continue. Loving it…my husband and I so disappointed that there will be no season 2. Great family values so come on now. Not enough shows like this. Please please.
If they weren’t going to renew then it shouldn’t have ended up in the air like it did. I was disappointed that the kid who ran away wasn’t found first.
Very disappointed
Was searching at o find more episodes when I found out Up canceled it
It was a good series! Why was this cancelled? Bring it back.
Definitely disappointed that it did not continue. One of the best series ever…
Bring it back Please
Disappointed in Up
Very disappointed to find out there no 2nd season I really enjoyed the first one and I think it was very easy to watch and I’m sure there could’ve loads more good story lines
Very shocked and disappointed
I would have love to see season 2! At least with a proper closure of how the children ended up. Disappointing to watch a whole season 1, only to learn that there is no season 2. Again, I think it should be brought back for closure.
Very disappointed!!! Bring it back, there aren’t many shows worth watching these days!
Very disappointed, would love to see a 2nd season. Great show!
We also are very disappointed the show was cancelled. Its getting harder with time to find family shows.
