TNT has had both great successes and big disappointments when it comes to their original scripted shows. Which of the current crop will be cancelled or renewed for another season? Stay tuned!
Scripted TNT shows listed: Agent X, The Alienist, Animal Kingdom, Claws, Dallas, Falling Skies, Franklin & Bash, Good Behavior, I Am the Night, The Last Ship, The Lazarus Project, Legends, The Librarians, Major Crimes, Murder in the First, Perception, Proof, Public Morals, Rizzoli & Isles, Snowpiercer, Transporter: The Series, and Will.
Last updated: Most recent ratings added for The Lazarus Project.
There’s lots of data that TNT execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
Dallas is the only reason I watch TNT.
I think The Last Ship is the best out of all and hope to see it renewing as with Perception. As for the rest seems like Dallas is not the same without JR and when you have seen one alien show you have seen them all unless you do something better and Falling skies did not. Cop shows everyone wants to be one and as far as sex in a show that is not family suited. The Last Ship is like what could happen in the real world and Perception is what does happen in real life with people with… Read more »
Love Major Crimes & Rizzoli & Isles. I think the Rusty story-line needs to move on, although I like his character well enough. They need to get back to regular crime solving. I love Fritz on there & if he IS leaving, then I hope he gets a spin-off, would be nice if his dept worked WITH MC. so we could see him periodically. I was disappointed when King & Maxwell was cancelled. I don’t watch any of the other shows. Was a big fan of The Closer / Kyra when it was on too.
I really like major crimes and loved the closer. Kyra’s accent is similar in all her movies that I have seen. I have watched a angie harmon in a few series. Angie harmon and sasha Alexander are great together
What was legends rating this week? the final number?
.52 & 2.58 mil first week
.47 and 1.725 mil in week two.
Big drop in viewership.
Used to love TNT but their shows are getting predictable. Surprised Franklin and Bash and Falling Skies lasted this long. At least Falling Skies is coming to an end. Extremely disappointed in their new offerings. Murder in the First is predictable, boring, and resorted to low brow nudity in their second episode I guess so viewers would overlook the bad writing. Legends is boring, people seem to like The Last Ship but I’m getting bored with it and won’t continue watching. At least Dallas is interesting enough to keep me awake. TNT needs to dump Perception (puts me to sleep… Read more »
Franklin & Bash is now in Season 4 and it hasn’t been renewed. Last night’s numbers start a new season.
TNT is now my favorite network and USA is a close second. Watch all but Dallas and Franklin & Bash.
watch Perception all the time and want it to be renewed.
Dallas is the reason I started watching other TNT shows. I really hope the second half of Season 3 sees improvement in the ratings. It’s a very entertaining show. Great to see Linda Gray back on our TV screens.
My least favorite TNT shows are MIF, Perception and Falling Skies.
MIF is just plain awful and so predictable. Perception puts me right to sleep. Falling Skies has gotten stale. I liked The Last Ship when it first airs but it’s starting to bore me a little as well.
My favorite TNT shows are Dallas, Major Crimes and R&I.
Sorry Dallas fans just seems “tired” re-tread to me. Am surprised Perception isn’t doing as well as I think. But as said once before TNT has the best line-up of shows for my household. Tip: DVR Murder In The First and fast coward thru ALL the commercials. It helps the pace of show & is probably main way I am able to watch because the episodes do progress slowly.
I hope that TNT did not pay an ad agency for a 20 year old boom catch phrase. Old Bochco is better than young Bochco. I missed the first episode of Murder in the First, but the concept of allowing the case to evolve slowly is delicious, like savouring every taste of an ice cream cone. It’s the anticipation. Am more of a fan of Major Crimes than I was of The Closer (I hated that fake accent, and could never understand the point of it). Too much Rizzoli in Rizzoli and Isles. This show supposedly takes place in Boston,… Read more »
TNT rocks or should I say BOOM! That new marketing catch phrase for TNT is terridic! We really enjoy Murder in the First. Best show of the summer! Like the concept. Hope it’s renewed. The three TNT shows that are the least favorites at our house: Last Ship, Dallas and Perception. Enjoy all the others immensely!
you should do this pages for other channels
I’ve done them for the five regular networks (links in the article) and will probably do a couple of the other main cable channels.
Yeah, i know about the main ones, but i was suggesting about other cable channels.
Btw i have a question. Except CBS, ABC… are there more “regular networks”? (i’m not talking about the cable channels)
Sorry if you didnt understand, I’m not from the US. :s
The Big 4 networks are CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX + the CW, which is also a broadcast network, but has rating similar to the cable ones.
Can’t believe they keep renewing Franklin and Bash. I think Murder in the First will be canceled and should be, terrible show.
