To no surprise whatsoever, NBC has cancelled their Monday night medical TV show, Trauma — for real this time.
Trauma revolves around a group of brave first responder paramedics in San Francisco. The high-action series is populated by an ensemble cast that includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
The NBC series got off to a poor start last fall with just a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.68 million viewers. The ratings fell from there and the show was essentially cancelled when the network decided not to order additional episodes beyond the initial baker’s dozen.
Then, in large part because the show was still in production and NBC needed additional original programming, the network ordered an additional seven episodes. Viewership continued to fall and NBC cut back their additional order to five installments. The last one aired on April 26th.
Though NBC has a lot of slots to fill on the 2010-11 schedule, Trauma’s ratings were just too low to pay for a second season. It’s been cancelled after 18 episodes.
Though devoted fans may mourn the series’ demise, a consolation might be that they got five more episodes than the ratings realistically warranted.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Trauma won’t be back next season? Any thoughts on how you would have wrapped up the series?

My wife and I loved this show! It was real I felt like I connected with them. Maybe because it was the most realistic medical shows that I had ever seen. It reminded me of my current job as a flight paramedic. I wish some one could bring this show back to life!
My wife and I loved the show.. It was one of our weekly favs.. Too bad
You dropped a good show. Poor decision
VERY DISAPPOINTED that they canceled the show! was enjoying it so much on NETFLIX and now very upset there isnt another season! they need to come back with it and bring all the cast back!!!!!
i want to watch season 2 of trauma but im not going to get to because their is none left me hanging now im upset
Bring it back!!! I miss Trauma and Mercy. blows away any “medical” show I’ve ever seen….Come on NBC give it another go, for both of them….
Seriously sad they cancelled this. Watched this on netflix, awesome. Showed real life things, real life action and events and how it really is to be a first on scene trauma/rescue personel. Let alone the one in the traumatic experience. Wish it would be “resurrected.”
I just viewed all of the episodes of trauma on my computer and cannot understand why NBC canceled this show. Trauma is one of the best shows I have seen, and I am a Dr.
I loved that show they should advertise it better. I feel it was not advertised well but I got into it and would love for I to come back.
Why oh why do you keep cancelling your shows!!!!
I watch from the uk and was so looking forward to series 2 and here we go again.. Cancelled! honestly, is there any point in getting interested in anything you put on???? Is it all about demo’s??? Why not try something different, I don’t know, like give a program a chance before you whip the rug from under it!!!
loved the show!!!! Please bring it back. It’s a one of a kind hit. It grows on you, I can’t wait to see the new episodes
I think it is ******** that trauma is canceled and NBC needs to reinstate this program i cannot tell you how i looked foreward to watching this show while i was deployed to iraq
I loved trauma! We were so waiting for another season and were very disappointed when it didn’t come back. Low ratings? Who rated it, professional critics? What do they know?!
Trauma was an amazing show… I’m so sick and tired of all the reality tv and game shows… Trauma was the new ER…. Bring it back….
Truama really is a great show with the right cast. I can’t believe NBC cancelled this show. I love it.. besides I didn’t see that much advertisment about the show. I just happened to find it on Netflex .
