To no surprise whatsoever, NBC has cancelled their Monday night medical TV show, Trauma — for real this time.
Trauma revolves around a group of brave first responder paramedics in San Francisco. The high-action series is populated by an ensemble cast that includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
The NBC series got off to a poor start last fall with just a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.68 million viewers. The ratings fell from there and the show was essentially cancelled when the network decided not to order additional episodes beyond the initial baker’s dozen.
Then, in large part because the show was still in production and NBC needed additional original programming, the network ordered an additional seven episodes. Viewership continued to fall and NBC cut back their additional order to five installments. The last one aired on April 26th.
Though NBC has a lot of slots to fill on the 2010-11 schedule, Trauma’s ratings were just too low to pay for a second season. It’s been cancelled after 18 episodes.
Though devoted fans may mourn the series’ demise, a consolation might be that they got five more episodes than the ratings realistically warranted.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Trauma won’t be back next season? Any thoughts on how you would have wrapped up the series?

finally a good medical show with a decent story line and it is cancelled. The Ambulances, the Helicopter, the caring, all gone. I am tired of the comedy shows that treat me like a kid. I like a little meat and food for thought. Maybe I will watch more TNT and other channels that seem to have a more respect for peoples intelligence.
My wife and regularly watched this show opposite of the CBS sitcoms. Sorry to not have it on. We have been watching back-to-back Law & Order which is usually to much Law & Order in one night probably will switch back to CBS at 10pm if nothing changes for the better on NBC. P.S. We also always watch Mercy on Wednesday night.
Trauma was an excellent show …. The writers never wondered why the show would broadcast while 24 is showing on fox that just don’t make alot of sense and they wonder why they have no ratings .
How do they know how many people are watching this show? This show was terrific in many ways……..
Terrible they canceled it!
Screw you NBC! This is the only show I watched on your crappy channel. First Conan and now Trauma. Guess I have nothing to watch on NBC anymore.
This show was my favorite why is it that you people dont ask before you cancel I loose to many shows because you cancel good ones . like when Iwas younger China Beach I loved that series. BRING TRAUMA BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And they left the last episode with a crappy cliff hanger when Nancy got hammered and decided to make out with Glenn. Why can’t she and Rabbit just live happily ever after. Oh wait a minute, it’s an evening “soap opera” . No one is every happy.
I would like to see another network to pick up the show like TNT did with Southland, a NBC show as well.
It’s too bad that good shows like Trauma get nixed when there is so much crap on TV like all the damn reality shows.
We need more reality shows like NBC needs Jay Leno doing his same “Tonight Show” at 10 pm.
Let’s get real programming on network TV, not Reality.
What am I supposed to watch Monday nights??? 🙁 My FAVORITE show is gone… again! I am so sad. I love Trauma. It blows me away that the entire world doesn’t love it with me. 🙁 …I’ll go cry now…
RAAAAAABIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
Boooooooo! Not only did you take it away from us once,,you did it again in the middle of a season! No finale?
Oh myGod! I was looking forward to this show every Monday and again they cancel a show so many of us like…..My guestion is who the f*** decides what show to cancel they need to do a pole before yanking a show off….idiots
This is a really good show and hoping that it will stay
lawlz he tells me everything cliff curtis hes my cousin

I am kinda upset they cancelled Trauma. I thought it was a great show. It had all of traits that make a good program. Too bad we will never know the outcome of all the drama that was just beginning to transpire. Maybe NBC will have a change of heart again and bring the show back.
I LOVED trama. Stupid NBC. big mistake!!
