September 11, 2012 ratings: It was another solid evening for the peacock network. On NBC, the second night of The Voice took the night with a 3.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.30 million total viewers.
That provided a solid lead-in for the second episode of new sitcom Go On which drew a 3.4 demo rating and 9.57 million. That was followed by the second night of The New Normal with another 2.5 in the demo with 7.0 million.
The fourth season of Parenthood drew a 1.9 in the demo with 5.57 million. Compared with the third season debut a year ago, the drama was down by 14% in the prized demographic.
On FOX, the two hour installment of So You Think You Can Dance attracted a 1.5 rating with 4.29 million. Compared with last week’s usual Wednesday airing, the reality competition did about the same.
On CBS, it was a night of action repeats with NCIS (1.2 demo with 8.64 million), Hawaii Five-0 (a 1.1 rating and 6.92 million) and NCIS: Los Angeles (1.2 in the demo with 6.80 million viewers).
On ABC, we also had three hours of reruns. The Middle attracted a 0.9 demo rating with 3.84 million viewers while Last Man Standing attracted a 0.8 rating and 3.03 million. At 9pm, Happy Endings also drew a 0.8 in the demo with 2.28 million and Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 found a 0.7 rating and 1.94 million. At 10pm, Private Practice attracted a 0.5 in the demo with 1.72 million viewers.
And finally, on The CW we had reruns of Hart of Dixie (0.3 rating and 0.70 million viewers) and The Next (0.2 in the demo with 0.64 million).
Keep in mind that these are the fast affiliate ratings. The daily finals for the original episodes (not repeats) will be added to the individual show pages when they become available.
What do you think? Any ratings surprises, particularly on NBC? What were you watching last night?
I meant CBS renewed NCIS NCIS LA and NCIS New Orleans I’m very happy for that
I am so happy that you BS renewed NCIS la it’s one of the best shows besides NCIS and NCIS New Orleans they are all great shows
I stopped watching New Girl after the second episode. I have no idea how that show got renewed. I enjoyed watching Go On and The New Normal. Those two are keepers. 🙂
I like Go On, but it is impressive that repeats of the CBS shows did almost as well in the ratings. I applaud NBC for starting the season early to try to get viewers watching, but CBS is going to cream everyone when the new season starts for them.
Go On and The New Normal will easily win the three-way timeslot battle. New Girl is on the decline. It will get mid-2s at the highest, and The Mindy Project won’t do much better. Ratings-wise, Happy Endings/DTTBIA23 are jokes. Probably only NCIS:LA will top Go On and TNN in the demo. (New Girl may top TNN once or twice, but they’re not in direct competition so I don’t count that.
Sorry, grammar police. I missed a parenthesis. 😉
Go On Rules!
The Voice Rules!
The New Normal Sucks!
Well, two out of three ain’t bad.
The real test will be when New Girl premieres to see whether Go On holds up in the ratings. I enjoyed The New Normal’s 2nd episode better than the first.
