Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

Please don’t give up on this show!! TV has so little to offer with good content these days so when you get a show that has it ,suddenly it’s cancelled. Please please reconsider ir as you say put it elsewhere!! Thank You!!

somewhat true to a certain extant of today’s reality. I think it’s very informative and it gets your heart pumping. Please bring it back
A late comment, but we are disappointed. This was a must watch show for us! Perhaps it was too current in today’s climate? We are intelligent people who separate TV from reality. We hope we can get Tyrant back!
I thought it was so different in its setting and its storyline, that it was quite compelling. Now, you’ve left us hanging as Barry takes the reigns.

I am in a country where you don’t get to watch as it is aired online.. I watch on Cds and I plead for it to come back. The movie is an eye opener of what happens in country like Syria and co
