Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

Yes, I want a season 4. Does Abuddin achieve democracy? Does Bassam stay on as the permanent President? Does his wife give birth to another child? What happens to Leila? All these unanswered questions…we need season 4!

PLEASE BRING TYRANT BACK!!!!! This has been a binge-worthy watch for the last few weeks. I would love to see another season, or at least a pilot/mini-movie series.
Tyrant is one of TV’s most entertaining and thought provoking series. It would be very disturbing if such a show were canceled with so much story left to tell.

This is a very good series. I for one am getting tired of very good shows that are at 3 seasons then suddenly stop and get cancelled. We as your customer base will soon stop watching any shows with the word “series” in it. Why start a “series show” if you are not sure the viewers will like it, why not just make a movie. We need a season 4 to finish the story line and not just be left hanging.

Please bring back a 4th seAson of Tyrant I can’t believe that it was canceled after the 3rd season, tt was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, I have learned so much about War, Caliphate, Muslin, treason, dictatorship how people live and think in other parts of the world. I loved it . Please bring it back, I’m now watching reruns
Tyrant was a very good series and season 4 is needed to finish it is nothing else.

I think this is one of the best series on TV. I am surprised and disappointed that it was cancelled. There are so very few excellent shows with fiirst rate acting and action on TV and canceling this show was a huge mistake!
I absolutely enjoyed this series. I loved all the heroes and heroines. Disliked the bad gals and guys. Amazing acting. I felt moved by the convictions of every faction and inspired to explore the Muslim faith.
Each show was captivating and lured me into understanding the struggle of the Middle East.
Very disappointed that season 3 was the end.
A great, entertaining, and captivating series. Job well done to the actors and everyone involved with the filming and cinematography.
