What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the WGN America cable channel, Underground stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Jessica De Gouw, Alano Miller, and Christopher Meloni. The cast also includes Christopher Backus, Marc Blucas, Reed Diamond, James Lafferty, Amirah Vann, Bokeem Woodbine, Aisha Hinds, Jasika Nicole, Michael Trotter, Jesse Luken, Sadie Stratton, and Robert Christopher Riley. In the second season, John Legend will guest star as abolitionist Frederick Douglass. A historical drama, Underground follows the heroes of the Underground Railroad who harnessed every bit of their wits, strength, and grit in order to escape slavery and live as free men and women. In season two, their fight for freedom continues, even as tragedy strikes.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Underground averaged a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 567,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 40% and down by 43%, respectively. Learn how Underground stacks up against WGN America’s other TV shows.

Telly’s Take
At the beginning of the season, I thought that Underground would be renewed because of its ratings. Now that Outsiders has been cancelled, it’s looking like WGN America wants to get out of the scripted series business. I have a feeling this will be the last season for the series, at least on this channel. I will keep an eye on the ratings, my ear to the ground, and will update this page when I have news to share. great program with a lot of historic value teaches us what really happened back then makes us appreciate what we have now
I loved Seasons 1 and 2 of Underground. This is an IMPORTANT show. As a white American, it gave me a lot of insight in the suffering of slaves, and ehat an abomination the Fugitive Slave Act was. This is needed education for all Americans.
I was looking forward to see season three when you have something descent to watch it always happen I hope it is a season three good actors and storyline
Underground is historic and I enjoy watching it, I absolutely love it; can’t get enougn of it.. Following episodes are much needed. Bring it back.

I think Underground is the most exciting show I’ve seen all summer. Great characters and writing. I also really love the music placement. Please make a 3rd season!!!!
