Veep is taking a break. TVLine reports the HBO series’ seventh season is delaying production because of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ cancer treatment.
On the comedy, the Emmy-winning Louis-Dreyfus plays former vice president and president Selina Meyer. The cast also includes Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Matt Walsh, Sufe Bradshaw, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole, and Sam Richardson.
Earlier this year, Louis-Dreyfus announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. During a recent interview on Sirius XM’s Press Pool, executive producer Frank Rich revealed Veep will delay production until Louis-Dreyfus feels ready to return to work.
With production postponed, it’s unclear when HBO will announce the premiere date for season seven.
