The first 79 episodes of the Vikings TV show aired on History. Then, late last year, it was announced that the final 10 episodes of the series would be released on Amazon Prime Video first, on December 30th. Regular cable viewers would have to wait. The final episodes were then released on Hulu on March 30th and regular cable viewers had to keep waiting.
Well, the long wait is finally over. History has quietly announced that the final episodes of Vikings will begin airing on Saturday, June 5th, at 8/7c.
An action-adventure series, the sixth season of Vikings stars Alexander Ludwig, Alex Høgh Andersen, Peter Franzén, Katheryn Winnick, Jordan Patrick Smith, and Marco Ilsø. Danila Kozlovsky, Georgia Hirst, Adam Copeland, Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, Ragga Ragnars, Steven Berkoff, and Eric Johnson have recurring roles. The period drama delves into the Viking warriors and their strange, ruthless world. Season six picks up after the battle which has left Bjorn (Ludwig) victorious and a hero to the people who have been under the tyrannical rule of Ivar (Høgh) for so long. As the new leader of Kattegat, Bjorn struggles to fill his late father’s shoes as king, while facing several dilemmas and wrestling with the idea that power overshadows morals. Meanwhile, Ivar, searching for a new path to separate him from his past, is seen traveling along The Silk Road eventually leading him to Russia.
Here’s a teaser for the final episodes:
Netflix has already ordered Vikings: Valhalla, a spin-off to the Vikings show. It will take place a century later and will tell the story of well-known Norsemen like Leif Erikson, Freydís Eiríksdóttir, Harald Hardrada, and the Norman King William the Conqueror.

What do you think? Have you enjoyed the Vikings TV series? Will you be watching the final episodes on History or, have you already seen them on Amazon Prime Video or Hulu?
This is – to say the least a huge disapointment
I did not know history channel had shown series 6 in June. Where can I find it now
Strange ending to the series, !!!! Left me wo during what happens next
What happened to the last four episodes that the History channel failed to air? Why? Everyone does not stream and we need regular TV stations.
When will we be able to see the rest of the series?
Sorry to tell you but the 10 episodes have all aired: 6/5 (2 eps), 6/12 (2 eps), and 6/26 (6 eps).
I missed it also. Do the right thing and put it on History (On Demand). I’ll never get involved in another History program again.
Yes we’re love the Vikings. Its hard to catch though, TV says its on when it isn’t.
We are dedicated Viking watchers and History Channel supporters.Which is why we are disappointed in the current stae of events. We waited over a year to see season 6 on it’s original channel, History. We were there when the final season aired June 5th 2021. After 3 episodes nothing, no explanation. We love this show and wnat to see the finale with these wonderful dedicated actors. Don’t we deserve some kind of explanation as to the wheres and whys of what happened to Vikings beside it just disappearing from the History Channel? We need a finale!
Watch it on Hulu or Peacock . I paid for a month on Peacock app to finish watching the last few seasons . As all the rest they were great . Now ready for Vikings Valhalla to aire .
What happened to the last four episodes of Vikings on the History channel. They just took them off? Why? Everyone does not have streaming and needs regular TV!
Is the most awesome show I ever watch in my life love it, loveit❤️
I really enjoyed Vikings from the very beginning all the way to the end I’m sad to see it go.
Our whole family has been watching the series from the beginning on History. Since we are paying for cable I am not paying for streaming networks. Today Sat the 26th, there has been maybe 8 episodes on “History” showing “NEW” but showing first aired on Jan-Mar. Are these the last episodes shown on another streaming provider and finally on “History”? I am confused. What are these episodes?
All my favorite series are moving to “STREAMING”. This PISSES me off!
I have really enjoyed the Vikings TV saga I hate to see it end but everything must come to an end I just wish there had been a few more seasons
Sorry, I meant June 19.
Yes, but already it’s not on tonight, Sat, June 18, 3 weeks in! There were 2 episodes last week. Why not even one tonight? Not to disparage the other shows which are on tonight, but we just got back into watching Vikings on History on Saturdays! Poor programming, History. I already saw all of the final episodes on Amazon Prime, but wanted to watch again on the original channel. So what about next Saturday, June 26, will Vikings be on, or will you be jerking us around again?
I don’t know where you are, but we have seen the episodes on Saturday each week since in started again. However now on June 26th my DISH DVR has 6 episodes recoding and I don’t know if the final episode is recording or not, since I can’t find the name of the final episode. This is ridiculous programming I agree!!
Watching it on History Channel. Finally.
Unique concept and unique character.
Excellent show
