The cast of The West Wing reunited recently to film a new PSA to support veterans. The PSA was unveiled on Wednesday night at an event on the Warners Bros lot. It has been a decade since the drama aired on NBC.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Richard Schiff, Mary McCormack and Dulé Hill all planned to attend the event. Melissa Fitzgerald, who also starred on the series, was the driving force behind the reunion and PSA. The PSA was filmed for Justice for Vets, which Fitzgerald has been involved with since 2013.
She said the following about the group’s efforts in an interview with THR:
“We ask so much of men and women who have served in uniform for our country and when they come home, we need programs that work for them. All of our vets, including those who are struggling, are among our nations most valuable civic assets.”
Members of the cast, including Rob Lowe, have mentioned interest in returning to the small screen together. Perhaps this reunion will open the door for a more substantial reunion in the future.
