TV show description:
Based on books by Janette Oke, this historical drama revolves around Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher who’s been accustomed to high society life. Her life changes dramatically when she receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coal mining town where life is simple, but often fraught with challenges.
Abigail Stanton (Lori Loughlin) is a wife and mother whose husband (the foreman of the mine) and a dozen other miners have just been killed in an explosion. The newly widowed women find their faith is tested when they must go to work in the mines to keep a roof over their heads.
Elizabeth charms most everyone in Coal Valley — except Constable Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing). He believes that her wealthy father has doomed the lawman’s career by insisting he be assigned in town to protect the shipping magnate’s daughter.
Living in a 19th century coal town, Elizabeth must learn the ways of the frontier if she can ever hope to thrive in the rural west on her own.

Don’t ever cancel. It’s the best TV series I’ve ever watched. Watched the first 3 series over and over and can’t wait for Sunday nights to see what’s coming next.
I,m a big fan of WHEN CALLS THE HEART and agree with Phyllis 100%. I not only watch the show but over and over , can’t wait for Sunday to watch another episode and have purchased every episode from the beginning. I could watch new and old episodes of this show everyday. The show is good tv that haven’t been around in awhile. I happened to come into it by chance when searching through Netflix to find a show to relax to. I’m not really a TV/ movie type person, but this series caught my heart. I was so sad when season ended that I had to keep on watching reruns every so often. I can hardly wait for the new season and please don’t ever cancel it. Absolutely love the cast and characters.
