TV show description:
This dark romantic comedy takes a modern look at love and happiness, as told through the eyes of two people who haven’t been very successful with either.
Narcissistic, brash, and self-destructive, Jimmy Shive-Overly (Chris Geere) thinks all relationships are doomed. Cynical, people-pleasing, and stubborn, Gretchen Cutler (Aya Cash) knows that relationships aren’t for her.
So, when Jimmy and Gretchen meet at a wedding, it’s only natural that the two of them go home together and — despite their better judgment — begin to find themselves falling for each other.
Edgar Quintero (Desmin Borges) is Jimmy’s once homeless, war veteran roommate. Lindsay Jillian (Kether Donohue) is Gretchen’s best friend and former partner in crime who’s now struggling with a life of domesticity.
Episode #62 — Pancakes
On the day of their wedding, Jimmy and Gretchen grapple with the meaning of marriage. Written and directed by Stephen Falk.
First aired: April 3, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the You’re the Worst TV show? Do you think it should end with season five?
I have to say I was happy to see it end. It seemed like something “different” but eventually devolved into the same formulaic garbage you can find on most of the primetime networks (main protagonist, Jimmy, is degenerated into typical t.v. version of emasculated male; not knowing how to react to any given relationship situation that arises, kowtowing to his “love” interest). I stopped watching mid season (literally in the middle of the show) in season 3. Good riddance.
