As you may have already heard, Zero Hour has been cancelled by ABC after only three episodes. The news doesn’t come as a surprise as the debut represented ABC’s worst scripted premiere in the history of their regular seasons. The numbers for episodes two and three were even worse.
Still, there were at least five million or so people who made a point of watching Zero Hour each week. They’re understandably upset about the cancellation news — as are members of the cast.
Addison Timlin (Rachel): “The end of zerohour brings me great sadness, but every ending is a new beginning and that is always laced with hope. Thank you all, truly.” “What to the world was just 3 episodes was a whole year for us. Truly an honor to know, work with and love you, to everyone on the team. Xo”
Jacinda Barrett (Laila): agreed with Timlin’s second statement and added, “couldn’t have said it better. Xxxx”
Carmen Ejogo (Beck): “In a NY minute everything can change In a NY minute things can get a little strange” “#nomorezerohour I guess that means I can start watching American Idol again. #alwayslookonthebrightsideoflife” “I believe process is often more important than outcome. I had the BEST time making @ZeroHour_ABC with everyone all year, so #noregretsbaby”
Scott Michael Foster (Aaron): “I absolutely loved #ZeroHour and everyone who worked on it. Will miss filming one of the coolest and enjoyable shows I’ve been on.” “To all my wonderful twitter followers, you make the hard part of this job so much easier with your kind words and support. Thank you.”
What do you think? What was your reaction to Zero Hour being cancelled? What did you think of the work of the show’s cast and crew?
Have Sci-Fi channel pick it up.
I’m sorry I started watching the show. It was just starting to gain momentum. I should have known better after Last Resort and 666 Park Ave were cancelled. I definitely will not be watching Shark Tank reruns and will likely skip any new ABC shows. They don’t stand behind their shows. They should show more loyalty to the viewers they have instead of worrying about the ones they don’t.
I really enjoyed this show alot, lots of twists and turns. It was a fun show to watch always suprises as to what was going to happen or be revealed next. Going against Big Bang Theory (which I also enjoy) and American Idol doomed this show. I watched it on Hulu rather than in the regular time slot. Very sorry this has been cancelled, I do look forward to seeing the remaining episodes this summer. Maybe this will renew interest in it. Several people at my workplace love the show too.
I enjoyed this show so much more than any of the reality shows and competition shows that seem to swamp us now. What on earth is wrong with a good old drama to follow?! Last night I watched the pilot of Red Widow but now I don’t plan on getting too invested in that show just in case it gets cancelled, too!
I really liked that show, sad thay didn’t give it a chance.
SO SAD!! I am sick and tired of ABC beginning programs they convince us to watch just to have them pull them out from under us quickly. I may just have to quit ABC altogether! Except for Castle, that is…I LOVE Castle! But it is truly upsetting!! Get it together people!!
It was terrible.
I would rather have watched Zero Hour than the stupid show Wife Swap!!!
You get a good show that keeps you engaged, and it is cancelled after only three episodes. How sad.
Love that show. Don, if viewers don’t like shows that require intelligent thought, why did Fringe last for seasons? Personally, I appreciate a show that does not insult my intelligence and actually assumes I am intelligent enough to follow it.
I also believe it got low viewership because the content is based on Christianity. Now I believe that if it were based on another religion, it would not get cancelled because believers of that religion would make a big stink about discrimination. Maybe Christian viewers should.
What took so long to cancel it? I would have canceled it during the first commercial.
I saw none of the shows, but abc has had shows with poor starts and let the find an audience, but not here. If it was that bad, it begs the question why put it in the line-up.
Their airing of quality is just missing at times, but I guess it was just zero hour here.
I loved the show, and very well written, the cast great except for Anthony Edwards he really was not into the show, he even said it on an interview on Kimmel. Bring back the show PLEASE with a new actor!!! It will be a super hit!!
The cast sound like great people. But, as for the show, good bye to a rubbish program. I hope the cast can sink their teeth into a program with more substance. I’d love to see what they can do with good writing, behind them!
I haven’t gotten to see the show yet but I have and still am dieing to see the first episode on On-Demand. ABC is the worst network for cancelling shows too soon! but honestly, if the networks would stick to 1 series a time slot, they would make better off then this constant switching back and forth of a number of shows. It makes it hard to keep up with what is happening. Honestly, as time goes on, even though some of my most favorite shows are on tv, my enjoyment on the whole is getting less and less.
