Deadline is reporting that ABC has cut the episode order for Family Tools from 13 to 10 installments.
Family Tools revolves around an unlucky guy (Kyle Bornheimer) who inherits a handyman business following his father’s (J.K. Simmons) heart attack. Others in the cast include Edi Gathegi, Danielle Nicolet, Leah Remini and Johnny Pemberton.
Network execs supposedly made the cut because they don’t feel they’ll need all 13 episodes for mid-season. The plan is to air Family Tools and How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life) on Tuesday nights, starting at 8pm. They’ll fill the timeslot for 10 weeks, until the spring cycle of Dancing with the Stars begins.
All 13 installments of How To Live have already been completed so it’s unknown what ABC will do with the extra three episodes.
What do you think? Do you think the episode cut has anything to do with the network’s lack of faith in the series? Will you check out the show? Will Bornheimer finally find a hit?
Sounds like a dud.
